Aside from last year, we just don't do it right. We recruit players that have so many gaps in their game. We need a frontcourt player with a handle. Our offense is so limited because of it. Desi is the only guy with some type of ability to drive to the hole. This staff loves frontcourt players that can score from pointblank range. A good defensive frontline shuts us down and we have to resort to bailout shots from the perimeter. I think Delgado could develop, but who is in charge of that?

We need tough minded kids with solid basketball IQ's. I'm not seeing it, but I could be wrong.

NYCP,

We are NOT getting the commits you and I want and need because you know the reason. It is not a "point" failure. It is a "total system" failure.

SH needs to add those high talent recruits that can come in get meaningful minutes and contribute immediately . You need to get 6 to 7 of those type of players over your 4 year recruiting cycle that form the core of your program and at least two of which are elite All-Conference players. You supplement that core with 3 or 4 complimentary players which leaves you a couple or three slots to players you can develop who can be ready to contribute by their junior year. Equally important is that you have a balanced roster with depth at EVERY position.

well, we're getting role players that the rest of the conference wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. yay for us!

Willard's recruiting has us on track to be a very average mid-major basketball program. Its bad enough that he can't coach but if he could at least recruit it would offset his many shortcomings.

bottom line is he is getting enough rope to either get the program on track or to have no more excuses why he should remain as HC. The Big East amd SHU are not now or will it be a mid-major. The same reasons the league was formed, thrieved and caused FOX to committ remain viable. The group as a whole simply as to win in March. Is the Big XII a mid major b/c of its performance or anothe Kansas flameout. Same can be said of the Pac 12. of the 5 ACC teams; 2 are really Big East teams with a different label on the uniform.... hopefully this group gets better and SHU gets over the hump next year . otherwise, a change will have to be made.

one more comment and then on to the Post, it will be interesting to see how SCuse lands after the lost of scholarships and Jim B. the 2nd year at UConn after their hall of fame coach retired was not good and brought that program back to the pack. same will hold true for each of these schools. College hoops is marketed and structured around marketable head coaches. aside from the 5 - 10 truly elite programs, the market is large enough to accomodate 20-30 other schools, we just have to get into that group and sustain that level....

You are all miserable.
Having a zero tolerance policy for the diarrhea bball program Willard has leaked out is exactly what SHU needs. All of these insiders who are telling people to give it a rest are a detriment.

How many years has this program been a wasteland? We need scorched earth and then some. Keep it coming.
