After watching a repeat of the Providence game, I've noticed a few things after many years..players and plays that always killed us:
1. We now have the team that scores on transition plays..a quick team that gets easy buckets.
2. A not so star player that annoyed me with rebounds and hustles and does the little things that broke our back..we now have Ish.
3. We are the slashing team that gets fouled.
4. We're making our foul shots
5. Broke the press quite easily without many turn overs.
6. Not depending on the three
7. We have a good rebounding team
8. Very good defensive team
9. Have reserves that can not only keep the lead but help win games.
10. So far a team that you are proud of the way the handle themselves.
You know what..It's about time and a really good feeling and we deserve it....just hope we keep it up!

The defensive rebounding needs work and KW raised a good point in the postgame that when it's there we can run off of it.

Don't agree with #4

We made them in the PC game, we have been atrocious elsewhere.

Scratch that, Khadeen made them in the PC game...

Thought the same thing on #4 this has to be the worst ft shooting team I have seen in a while.

Looks like on season we are 65% which is not good IMO

We're 232nd in the country in opponents' offensive rebounding percentage. For a team that does so exceptionally well attacking on the other end of the floor, we really need to learn to box out as part of our defense.

It's really unfortunate to play good defense in front and then have that happen.

Villanova KILLED us in that area the last time we played them. They had 18 offensive rebounds (42.9% clip). On the season they're just over 30% (160th) and that's on a team that shoots a lot of 3's but aren't particularly good shooters.

it's a deficiency for us.

I prefaced my post with after watching the Providence game not the season....we shot 83% from the foul line.

We agree on this!!! lol (think he challenged your reading comprehension though in last post)

Our transition defense has been exceptional. We definitely need all five players boxing out all the time.

Don't know that I'd comment on one game with a "something we haven't seen in years".

Hell, I might hit 10 free throws in a row but assure you it would average out to 40% over the long haul.

hey lwyrup, thanks for posting that link - wasn't able to see the game and it didn't look like I was going to find a replay - I see that vid is unlisted (which is a good idea for it sticking around) - how/where did you find it?

Luck. Googled it and ended up on a friar fan's blog that had a link. I usually am able to find a full game replay (if its on fox or fs1) around 75% of the time. Tonight's game will be tougher to find.
