Richard Pitino to Alabama?

I have heard this rumor. Very strong rumor. You know who is backing it up and wants it to happen.

And our good friend Dan McHale might just go along with him.

Only if you chip in for the buy out.

Leaving Minnesota for Alabama seems dumb to me. But I guess I have a southern bias. I would much rather be at a Big 10 school than the SEC. But then, as said above, why would you want Richard Pitino at this point anyway? What has he done in any way to get you excited about him as your coach? I get that there is potential there bc of the lineage, but still.

I'm sure he'd get that offer if his name was Richard Smith. Jeez, how dumb is Alabama? This kid hasn't done a damn thing yet in his life other than find his way out of Slick Rick's sack.

Won the NIT last year. In his first year with the team. Gopher fans must have been happy.

I hear his dad says he's the second best X's and o's assistant he's ever had.

This is very hard to believe. I think he is very young and very unaccomplished.

If this happens with his brief record (43-28, 14-22 in conference in 2 years at Minn), Slick Rick truly is "the man".

Pitino should have used Willard's agent

"Pitino is heading into the third year of a six-year contract that pays him $1.2 million annually, and he has a buyout of $1.5 million."

1.5mm buyout? P-E-A-N-U-T-S...
