Grady is a graduate senior transfer from Cleveland State and one of their top two rebounders and even if he plays he may not be at full strength.

I would be very very shocked if he played meaningful minutes. While we can't wait to have him back, I don't think Marshall is in any rush to get him back on the court after the scary incident in Orlando. We already run a 10 man rotation without him, so I don't think forcing him into the game will be a requirement.

Yeah, that was very scary. I'm pretty surprised he's back at practice already.

Its such an odd injury. I guess it is extremely common to return to 100% after the injury. Its just really scary because he was paralyzed for about 24 to 48 hours. From what I've read, as long as there isn't any constriction of the spinal column, he should be fine to continue playing. Most of the protocols are based off football which has a far higher chance of another hit causing issues than basketball.

I'm glad he is OK. 100% return to function refers to having normal motor skill and reflexes etc. but not necessarily back to being able to perform with the same athletic ability right away. But hopefully he is able to get back to form for you guys soon, especially since it is his last year.

I agree completely. He came to WSU because he wanted to play in the NCAA Tourney. I really hope he is able to.

What a scary injury. Wonder how the kid is doing mentally as it sounds like the mental comeback may be even more of a challenge than the physical?
