I'll bet that Willard's contract is similar to Herman's in that there is no buyout that has been talked about here, but rather he gets his full remaining contract value paid. Flood gets a 1.4M buyout for being terminated without cause. Not quite a Les Myles type buyout. but even his buyout is less than the full value of his 4.3M annual compensation that was extended through 2019.

How the hell could our coach possibly have a buyout that is greater than his remaining contract?

Been scratching my head on that one too...maybe we should ask that new crack RU AD how that happened....

That contract should be null and void just based on Barachi's signature. It looks like someone gave a 2 year old a pen and was told to scribble.

Why is Hobbs making $110K more per year than Hermann was? I don't think Hermann was ever qualified for the job either. Guy has zero experience when it comes to running a football program no less the Big 10. So over a million dollars per year for 2 AD salaries in the next 3-4 years. Better hope Hobbs can fundraise big time. What an absolute waste of resources.

There's was an internal investigation conducted by an outside law firm concerning improprieties committed within RU's Athletic Department, most notably the failure to report and /or discipline players for failed drug tests. Also, Flood committed academic improprieties by pressuring professors about player grades. Maybe, Barchi and RU are going to negotiate buyouts with Hermann and Flood by asserting that they have cause for their termination?

When someone is hired and forced down their throats the chance of that person succeeding is slim. JH was hired because an influential RU Board member had an agenda and the general concensus was that she was not the best candidate in the pool of candidates and she's been sniped at from day one .She lacked the communication skills to win over her critics during her tenure and after the myriad of behavior issues that hit the FB program this year she was clearly " A dead women walking".

I have to say I am impressed with Rutgers inserting that buyout of Flood's contract for $1.4 million even though he had another 3 years on the contract. On the other hand, not so impressed with Flood's attorney

Hobbs will be infinitely better than Hermann. With Hobbs goes a lot of influence and money to Rutgers. Whether he will make a good AD or not remains to be seen. But Seton Hall is not in as good position as we were when we had Hobbs.
