Special Practice Watch with New Head Coach Rick Pitino Open to All Red Storm Fans; Storm Marketing and Flat Top Collective will host NIL Player Meet & Greet and Autograph Session Immediately Following Practice
QUEENS, N.Y. (Aug. 31, 2023) – The St. John’s men’s basketball program invites all fans to join the Johnnies for a special practice watch with Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino on Sunday, October 1, beginning at 2 p.m. inside Carnesecca Arena. The Red Storm’s practice watch is free and open to the public with doors opening at 1 p.m.

Immediately following the practice watch, Storm Marketing and the Flat Top Collective will host an exclusive meet & greet and autograph session featuring members of the 2023-24 St. John’s Red Storm. Tickets to the meet & greet and autograph session can be purchased for $30 at the entrance of Carnesecca Arena. In addition, limited edition t-shirts will be available for $30 at various locations inside Carnesecca Arena. All proceeds from the event will support Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) efforts of Storm Marketing and the Flat Top Collective.

One of the most successful coaches in the history of college basketball, Pitino was named the 22nd head coach in the history of St. John’s Basketball on March 21, 2023. Over the course of his impressive coaching career, Pitino has led two teams to national championships and has taken three different programs to the Final Four. Pitino, who brings to Queens an 834-293 career head coaching record, has made 23 NCAA Tournament appearances with five different schools and advanced to the Final Four seven times, a total reached only by six coaches all-time.

Since his arrival in Queens, Pitino has assembled an experienced and talented roster with 12 newcomers, including highly touted transfers Ivy League Player of the Year Jordan Dingle and First Team All-Ivy League selection Chris Ledlum. The Johnnies also welcome back senior captain Joel Soriano, the 2022-23 BIG EAST Most Improved Player, who averaged career-highs with 15.2 points and 11.9 rebounds last season. He finished second in the nation in rebounding and his 25 double-doubles were the second-highest total in Division I.

St. John’s men’s basketball season tickets are on sale now. To reserve your spot, contact the St. John’s Ticket Office at 1-888-GO-STORM or by visiting RedStormTix.com.
