THE GAME

Seton Hall will return to action on Wednesday, January 29 when it returns to historic Walsh Gymnasium to host BIG EAST rival Butler. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

MEDIA

The game will be streamed live by the BIG EAST Digital Network and will be available for FloCollege subscribers with Matt Ambrose and Johnny Gadamowitz on the call. As usual, the game will also be available over the airwaves at 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net. Jack Pine and Victor Gonzalez will describe the action on the radio. Live stats will also be available.

WSOU is also airing a post-game “Hall Line” show following its women’s basketball games. Be sure to tune in after the final buzzer.

LAST GAME

Graduate student Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) had team-highs of 16 points and eight rebounds and the Pirates pulled away from St. John’s in the fourth quarter for a 57-48 victory in Walsh Gymnasium on Saturday.

Trailing by five points early in the fourth, Seton Hall shut down the Red Storm the rest of the way, using a 14-0 run to take the lead for good.

Playing in her first game since Dec. 14, sophomore Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) scored 12 points, pulled down four rebounds and matched her career high with six steals. Freshman Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) finished with 11 points, three rebounds and three steals.

AGAINST BUTLER

Seton Hall and Butler will meet for the second time this season on Wednesday. The Hall owns a commanding 18-6 all-time series lead and has won 12 of the last 13 games against the Bulldogs. Earlier this season, the Pirates routed Butler, 69-49, in Hinkle Fieldhouse on Dec. 29. The Pirates have only lost once to Butler at home, and it was the first-ever meeting between the teams on Jan. 4, 2014. Butler is just 2-5 on the road this season.

EARLIER THIS YEAR AGAINST BUTLER

Jada Eads scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Pirates to a convincing, 69-49, victory in Hinkle Fieldhouse on Dec. 29. The Pirates used a 10-0 run just moments into the contest to take the lead for good.

Eads collected a career-high in points for a fourth consecutive game. She was 10-for-19 from the floor and also had four steals.

In all, five Pirates scored at least eight points. Faith Masonius had 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Yaya Lops tallied nine points and four rebounds. Kaydan Lawson had nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Savanna Jones had a career-high eight points and four rebounds.

SCOUTING BUTLER

This season, Butler is picked to finish eighth in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference, one spot behind the Pirates. Caroline Strande was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

The Bulldogs enter Wednesday’s contest with a 12-10 overall record and a 2-7 mark in BIG EAST play. Butler has played better than their record would indicate. The Bulldogs are currently fifth in the BIG EAST in scoring margin, fourth in rebounding margin and fourth in team field goal percentage, shooting .428 on the season. Butler has lost three straight games and is coming off a 74-67 overtime loss to DePaul on Sunday. Strande leads the team with 13.4 points per game. Kilyn McGuff is averaging 11.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, the latter of which is second-best in the conference.
