Freshman Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) didn’t have a great shooting game, but filled the box score. Seton Hall All-Time vs. the Blue Demons: DePaul leads, 24-9
2023-24 Meetings:
Seton Hall 71, DePaul 64 (F) – March 8, 2024 (Mohegan Sun Arena)
Seton Hall 91, DePaul 78 (F) – February 17, 2024 (Walsh Gymnasium)
AGAINST DE PAUL
Seton Hall and DePaul will meet on Saturday for the 34th time in history with the Blue Demons having largely dominated the series. DePaul owns a 24-9 all-time series lead, but The Hall has won four of the last five meetings, including a 71-64 victory in the first round of the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament last season. Due to the unbalanced schedule, the teams didn’t play in Chicago last year. The Pirates won, 91-78, last year in Walsh Gym.
SCOUTING DE PAUL
DePaul returns its No. 2 and No. 3 scorers in Jorie Allen and Kate Clarke, respectively, from a year ago. The Blue Demons added six freshmen to their young roster. DePaul fell to Seton Hall in the BIG EAST First Round, finishing the year 12-20 overall and 4-14 in conference play. Jill M. Pizzotti has assumed the role of interim head coach with Doug Bruno sidelined.
This season, DePaul is picked to finish ninth in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference, two spots behind the Pirates. Allen was named a Preseason All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention.
The Blue Demons enter Saturday’s contest with an 11-12 overall record and a 6-4 mark in BIG EAST play. DePaul has exceeded expectations in conference play so far, winning six of their first 10 games despite being picked ninth in the league. The Blue Demons had won two in a row before falling to No. 6 Connecticut on Wednesday, 84-58, in Chicago. DePaul currently leads the BIG EAST in offensive rebounding among conference games. Allen currently leads the BIG EAST in conference games with 19.6 points per game.
