SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of Florida State University transfer Mariana Valenzuela (Mazatlan, Mexico) to the program.
Valenzuela joins the Pirates after spending her first three collegiate years as a member of the Florida State University basketball program. The 2025-26 season will be her final year of eligibility.
The 6-foot-2 forward has appeared in 80 games for the Seminoles over the last three seasons, averaging 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Comfortable manning the paint, she's also proven quite adept behind the three-point arc having connected for 66 career three-pointers and a .440 percentage. Valenzuela has helped lead Florida State to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances and never averaged fewer than 10.0 minutes per game in her career.
Rated 95th overall, and 18th-best forward, in the 2021 class by ESPN's HoopGurlz, Valenzuela was named Player of the Game six times in Montverde Academy's 2020-21 season. Internationally, she represented Mexico at the 2019 FIBA U16 Americas Women's Championship, where in six games, she averaged 13.3 points and 15.3 rebounds, along with two 20-rebound performances.
