Now this meeting came quite by accident.
I was never much of a women's basketball fan. I went to a few games but they were mostly boring and of course we almost always came out on the losing side. So when I got a call from Pat Lyons asking me to cover our press conference welcoming new coach Tony Bozzella I wasn't really thrilled. There were many more things that day I would have rather done then spend a couple of hours on women's BB.
But Pat had done so much for me and this site that there was no way I could say no so off I went.
Got to Walsh about 1/2 hour before the start of the press conference and hooked up with Pat. He took me over to Tony, all 5'5" of him and my initial instinct was this guy is really short for a basketball coach. That was to be my last and only negative thought that day.
