Down big again 60-44 after 3 quarters. Buzzer beater by Gtown. They are not playing smart defense and
the offense has no cohesion. Right now it looks more like a talent problem than coaching. Cooks hasn't been in game. Don't know if she is injured??

Can probably kiss at large hopes goodbye by getting walloped by Georgetown who is not good...
They lose 74-66. They played well in the last 5 minutes of the 2nd quarter and that's it. Cooks played 9 minutes and nothing further. LPL looks completely gassed. She needs a couple of minutes off the court here and there. If she playing great than I guess you can understand it, but not during these past handful of games. You can't score 8 points in the 1st quarter of an important game as a team. They need a day off and then back to work. Less talent than last season for sure.

13-8 (6-5) with the best BE wins being St. John's (8-3) and Marquette (5-5). Games left include Villanova (2x), SJU (Away) and Creighton (Home). Splitting those is probably the minimum at this point to stay in the hunt.

Something is seriously wrong, there’s no excuse to be losing like this. To lose tonight at Georgetown is just embarrassing. Maybe it’s time for a players only team meeting. Something obviously has to change. There is too much talent on this team to be losing like this.
Perhaps, every coach is simply following Creighton's game plan. We never make adjustments.

They won‘t make the NCAA’s, they’ll make the WNIT with 63 other teams and the staff will hype themselves for earning another “post-season“ bid. When have we heard this before? (Sarcasm alert).
Only problem is that the play has fallen off a cliff. They have now played 4 awful games in a row. LPL and Cooks 6-36 from the floor including 2-14 from three. WASHINGTON – Four Pirates reached double-figures in scoring, including Mya Bembry (West Orange, N.J.), who matched a career-high with 14 points, but the Seton Hall women's basketball team fell at Georgetown, 74-66, on Wednesday.
The Pirates fell down by as many as 17 points in the first quarter after a Hoyas' 18-2 run and cut their deficit to as few as four points, but couldn't find the equalizer. Georgetown shot 52.1% from the floor for the game, while The Hall was just 29.3%.
Senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) led The Hall with 20 points, but had a tough night with her shot. She also had five rebounds and five assists. Bembry had 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting to go with four rebounds. Kae Satterfield (New York, N.Y.) came off the bench for 13 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Sha'Lynn Hagans (Manassas, Va.) totaled 10 points and six rebounds.
THE STORY:
The defensive intensity was apparent from the start on both ends of the floor. The first points of the game weren't scored until the 6:22 mark of the opening quarter. With the score tied at two, Georgetown went on a an 18-2 run to grab a commanding 20-4 lead with 1:09 to go in the first. The Pirates were just 3-for-18 in the first 10 minutes and trailed 23-8 after the first quarter. From downtown, Seton Hall was 0-for-6, while the Hoyas were 3-for-3.
A three-pointer by Hagans cut The Hall's deficit to 32-19, but Georgetown responded with a 7-0 run to push its lead to 20 points, 39-19, with 2:31 to go before halftime. That's when the light went on for the Pirates offensively. The Hall closed the half with a 15-1 run, connecting on five of its last six shots, including three-pointers by Hagans and Victoria Keenan (Bethlehem, Pa.). The Pirates carried only a six-point deficit at the break, 40-34.
Trailing 47-42, Park-Lane had an open three-pointer attempt that rimmed out, but Georgetown connected on three-pointers in back-to-back possessions to take a 53-42 lead with 2:18 left in the third. The Hall went without a made field goal for the final 6:38 of the third and Georgetown closed the quarter with a 14-2 run to take a 60-44 advantage into the fourth.
Park-Lane hit a three-pointer to cut The Hall's deficit to 72-64 with 1:37 remaining, but the Pirates couldn't get closer.
THE NUMBERS:
- Seton Hall was 22-for-75 (29.3%) from the floor for the game, while Georgetown was 25-for-48 (52.1%). The Hall was 6-for-26 (23.1%) from three-point range, while the Hoyas were 7-for-12 (58.3%).
- Park-Lane had a team-high 20 points to go with five rebounds, five assists and two steals.
- The rebounding was even for the game, 41-to-41, but the Pirates had a huge 16-to-4 edge on the offensive glass and a 15-to-3 advantage in second-chance points.
- Bembry had 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting and four rebounds.
- Seton Hall was a perfect 16-for-16 (100.0%) from the free-throw line, while Georgetown was 17-for-30 (56.7%).
- Satterfield matched her season-high with 13 points to go with six rebounds, five assists and a career-best four steals.
- Seton Hall forced 22 turnovers, while Georgetown forced 13. The Pirates had a 20-to-14 advantage in points-off-turnovers.
- Hagans had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.
- Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) had another strong defensive game with five rebounds and four steals.
- Seton Hall falls to 13-8 overall and 6-5 in the BIG EAST, while Georgetown improves to 11-9 overall and 4-7 in conference play.
- The Pirates have now dropped four straight games for the first time this season.
- The Hall is now 43-30 all-time against the Hoyas and has a seven-game win streak in the series snapped.
- With 20 points tonight, Park-Lane moved past Pirates' legend Dana Wynne into sixth place on Seton Hall's career scoring list. She now has 1,624 career points.
- With five assists tonight, Park-Lane moved past DePaul's Kelly Campbell into seventh place on the BIG EAST's career assists list. She now has 374 for her career.
- It's Cooks' third 20-point game of the season and the 11th of her career.
- With an assists tonight, Hagans reached the 150-assists mark for her career.
- With 14 points tonight, Bembry surpassed the 400-points mark for her career.
- It's the 32nd time Park-Lane has reached at least 20 points in a single-game, which leads all active Pirates.
- Seton Hall forced at least 20 turnovers in a game for the ninth time this season. They're 6-3 in those games.
- Seton Hall was a perfect 16-for-16 from the free-throw line tonight. It's the second-most made in program history without a miss. The Hall was 20-for-20 at Columbia during the 2022 WNIT.
- The Pirates were called for a season-high 24 fouls tonight.
Seton Hall will return to action on Saturday, January 28 when it returns to Walsh Gymnasium for a contest against DePaul. Tip is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The contest will be streamed live by the BIG EAST Digital Network and available to FloHoops subscribers. It'll also be available on 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net.
