Sha’s Lack of Accountability

Just a lost season. No inside scoring and 3-24 from 3. No set rotation with guys getting 16 minutes and adding nothing during their playing time-best player on the team doesn’t touch the ball in the last possession.

Give Felton the PG spot and let him develop.

Not going to get any easier to get people to pony up money for NIL w this shit show going on.

Sha definitely needs to get better at owning his mistakes. But in fairness to him, he won 25 games last year, yet the school didn’t have the resources to retain even one of his two best players.

The majority of blame for this disaster of a season falls directly on Felt, McBride, et al at the athletic department. I get that fundraising at Seton Hall is an uphill battle, but you either get the job done or you don’t. And clearly they have failed to keep us relevant in the NIL world.

Have never been a member of the "Believe-in-Sha" cult, but maybe....
1. He IS getting the best possible effort from this motley crew.
2. These ARE the best players he could get to come here.
3. We have one legitimate BE player, and one who would strictly be a 10 minute per game role player on a .500 BE team.

Sorry the mid majors we lost to all have players that would get good playing time on this roster. We recruited on athleticism and overlooked passing, dribbling, and shooting

Willard took 6 years
Willard was hired to get us into the tournament, Sha was hired to build on where we were which means win in the tournament. Big difference. Who envisioned the best year of the first 3 years would be being on the NCAA bubble when he was hired? We're at a point where agood job isn't NCAA or bust, it's win some games and not finish 10th or 11th.

You seem to have forgotten or don’t know about the NIL presentation made to the Board of Regents a few years ago where they laughed at it and were very disrespectful.
I'd like to know more about this! Was it discussed in a previous thread somewhere?

Like Sanders? I know ehe's Dad was supposedly tough to deal with, but I'd like to see him with us too.

this is so stupid. every coach is hired with the same goal, to win as much as possible. what an absurd spin.

Willard took 6 years
At least during the early Willard years we had the hope of the 2014 recruiting class to look forward to. Now with NIL, we can’t even count on the starters from this woeful team to return next year.

That’s no fault of Sha’s. He had a 25 win team last year. But the fact that we couldn’t even retain one, let alone both of Richmond/Davis is an indictment against our NIL department (if one even exists?)

The motto of Seton Hall remains a day late and (many) dollars short. Until someone in the Althetic department is able to change that, it doesn’t matter who our coach is.

Judging by the practice facility saga, maybe in another 20 years Seton Hall will begin to take NIL seriously.

Fordham. Hofstra. Monmouth. Enough of the NIL excuses!

Yeah those are horrible losses. Sha shouldn’t be off the hook for them. But we saw what he can do with talent. He needs to be given at least a fighting chance on NIL.

Sha tanked the program.
lmao. another absurd take. winning the NIT with an outrageous tournament snub last year = tanked the program? did willard's abysmal exit tank the program too?

its NIL time. every year is a different year for everyone.

Do with talent?

He didn’t make the NCAA tournament, the amount of wins and/or performance in the NIT is meaningless.

it was a historical snub. so instead focus on 13-7, 25-12. now go look how many 13 win conference seasons we had.

meaningless. yeah. LOL.

Last year was USC and Rutgers and 8 other blowout losses along the way with incredible talent in Kadary and Dre. What more can he ask for?

Thats 4 years in without NIL. U want talent then we need at least 3 mill to compete

Willard “abysmally” made the NCAA Tournament on his way out. Waiting for Sha to do the same.

Gary Cohen informed Sha of the news his team only had 1 game in the next 16 days, so at least there’s practice time. Sha was glad to hear it, he didn’t realize.

Look, Sha’s strength is not sitting at a podium and articulating things. Anyone expecting that is going to be chasing their tail. I do think it’s ridiculous to even talk about a “closer” or indict Coleman – who has been playing his ass off and carrying this sorry team – for not coming to the ball stronger. You have a 5th year player handling the ball like it’s a grenade, panicking constantly. Stop putting that player in this position.

This “closer” thing is another trip. Yeah, ofc everyone’s lives are better if you have Richmond and Davis who get buckets but look at the idiocy at the end of these games. Remember the turnover against Fordham when we should’ve held the ball with a Junior and 5th year Senior? Remember the final possession against Hofstra with a chance to win and how badly that was played by the same? And then last night? It’s not about a closer to me, it’s about poor fundamentals and awareness and having guys in spots that can’t do the job.

are you going to wait as long as you waited for willard? youre a third of the way there.

btw, you really like making the tournament and promptly losing by FORTY where guys had their exit planned for a month? thats what you're happy with ?

the man made the elite eight. i've never even seen the second weekend.

Snub? Even if it was an outrageous snub, it was still a bubble team. Win more games and don’t be in the position to be snubbed.

At the end of the day, results matter. I couldn’t care less about a feel good meaningless tournament. Maybe pre-NIL you could with a returning roster, but we saw our poor roster retention.

Dude look at this team. And please don’t bring up the NIT. 3 years, 0 tournaments. We’ve gone from respectable to doormats. That’s not on Sha? Let me guess— NIL!
it is NIL. gonna need a jackhammer to open that skull. sha needed to compete in the big east building off the amazing, fantastic, historically rare 13 win big east season.

in order to do it he thought he needed talent. he lost his two best players to (you guessed it, NIL) so he tried to find a way to maximize talent for dollar. value. so he took a chance on all these damaged goods players. they all have been too 100 recruits at some point. its not rocket science.

did it work? no. backfired big time. was it a strategy based on NIL? yes. its not that hard a concept.

so if you say it again, youre just a troll.

I don’t like flaming out of the tournament but I enjoy playing in it. Will Sha ever get us to the point where we’re even playing in it? Hasn’t exactly lit it up in the Big East Tournament either (0-2).

results matter how many victories in the tournament did we have prior? sha is 1 behind the previous couch who had 10+ years.

it needs to be taken into account

hes been to an elite 8. what do you think? the previous coach still waiting on the second weekend with his new resource pumped team

LOL calling me a troll because I disagree with the NIL take after losing to Fordham, Hofstra, and Monmouth this year. Nice.

How do we know that Kadary and Dre couldn’t wait to get away from this guy? Samuel ran far away too. Since NIL amounts aren’t publicly disclosed, we’ll have to assume that they left for bigger paydays than we couldn’t afford. Or at least that’s how Sha will always play it up.
