Sha’s Lack of Accountability

The whole thing is crazy. Amazing people in leadership positions think this is acceptable. I know the Courts make rulings, but nobody seems to be trying to come up with a better solution.

Micah Peavy from Georgetown is on his 3rd school in 5 seasons, 3rd in 3 years. Our own Chaunce Jenkins is on his 3rd in 5 too. Toumi is actually on his 4th including a JUCO year.

Yes, but my guess is he had one of the most lucrative.

I know it is life changing money for most all these kids.

I’m just saying that I think the HC and situation play a role in player retention, at least for some kids. I’m sure Duke didn’t get out-NIL’ed for Jeremy Roach even with Baylor no doubt having resources. I think the ability to get minutes at the PG slot coupled with a coach who has recently developed a number of professional guards played a role in that too.
Sorry but I don’t agree one iota with this sentiment. This isn’t going to the major leagues and developing a career there for a long time.

This is all a one-year deal with the highest bidder because every—every—single kid pretty much believes they’re the best at what they do. They do not think like normal people such as you and I do and 99% don’t analyze their circumstances as much as they tell the press.

And even if Baylor offered the exact same as Duke, it’s like arguing whether Soto was staying with the Yankees or going to the Mets. It wasn’t really like the other 26 teams (I’ll give you maybe Boston and Toronto) had a chance.

Seton Hall isn’t even in the Kansas City Royals arena relative to the rest of college basketball.

Neither of us know for sure. We only know what is out there publicly or if one somehow has reliable information from a legit source. I don’t trust 99% of the stuff related to NIL or players that gets leaked to folks on boards like this from a staff or someone connected to the school because 99% of the time those folks are incentivized to say a kid left for more NIL money and not other reasons.

My view on all this is the same common sense factors that drive career-decisions impacts what these kids do. Which tells me $ is a factor but not the only factor for some.
