Felton isn't deployed as a point guard and thus isn't one. Each of our three centers has at least twice as many assists as Felton and he has played enough now that their minutes are in the same ball park.

He doesn't have any assists (well, two) because he rarely makes a pass that leads to a shot. He brings the ball up the floor, flips it to another wing and then hides in the corner for 20 seconds, only to come out near the end of the shot clock to take a shot if the ball winds up in his hands. As it is, he should be doing better than one assist per 56 minutes played by accident.

Dylan plays because he's apparently the other one that Sha trusts to run the offense, such as it is. I'd agree Felton should get more run but it's not a simple either or choice since they don't play the same position.

BTW, not only was Felton minus-10 in his 11 minutes (tied with Dual for worst on the team), PC scored 31 of its 91 points when he was on the floor. He's not solely responsible for that but that's pretty glaring when you're not doing much offensively.

So you want to bench Felton because he not a good defender? Who gave PU 91 points? Sure wasn't Felton he only played 11 minutes. So if you want to bench him why don't you want to bench the other guys who played far more and gave up 91 points?

Your critique does not hold up under scrutiny!

Felton may Not be the answer this year but you must play him lots now to find out if he can contribute more next year (if he stays) and also to help him develop. If he is not playing today how do you expect him to be the player you want him to be next year. It's not like this team is going to a post season. So what is the harm?
You’re making things up. I didn’t say bench Felton. I said he’s not ready for consistent extended minutes. Against DePaul he played 24 minutes and he played at the end of regulation and the OT. He played well. DePaul is a slow, less athletic team and it was good situational usage by Holloway.

PC is a completely different team, faster, bigger, stronger. Holloway gave him 11 minutes but felt he couldn’t hold up defensively and frankly he wasn’t moving the ball effectively. Not a good situation for him at this stage of his development so for this game Holloway used him sparingly. I’ll go with the coach on this one.

And yes the team played poorly defensively but that doesn’t mean Felton would have improved the defense. PC had an unconscious shooting night. It happens. We scored 85 points against them and PC is known as a rugged defensive team.

The problem with DAW is he'll give us DePaul, but also Fordham, Hofstra, Georgetown, and Rutgers. He's just never been the kind of player that should have the ball in his hands this much. But Sha threw zeros with Dual and Harmon, so what do we expect? I'd love to know what we're paying him, Dual, Harmon, and Toumi.

A team of Richmond, Jenkins, Coleman, Middleton, and then nobody would've been better than this.

I see Felton has a guy with talent and do think he should play more, but I don't think he's a better player than DAW at this stage. Better shooter? Yes, by far. Better ball hander? Yes, by far. But he's much worse in everything else. He also doesn't have Pitino's "lateral movement". He's a shade better than Jaquan Sanders IMO. I would be playing him more when it's clear DAW doesn't have a shot, like yesterday.
Felton is not a better ball handler than DAW. If you really watch him he has a very poor handle

nobody on this team can remotely hit a shot. if felton can, he needs to play. its simple as that.
