Part of why he did it was because Kolek has been out of sync, can’t score the ball and needed to get him some confidence

The other part is because he had a starter, and his 6th and 7th man out with injuries

He’s never done anything but kept his foot on the accelerator against us anytime we play them. This is a dog eat dog conference. Either you’re up for it or you‘re not.

oh yea, he told u that?

If anyone listened to Shaka’s postgame talk, they were down 3 perimeter players. That might have something to do with it. They went into the game down 2 and Jones was done after the first media timeout. And they played zone at the end.

In a +22-point game against SJU, it wasn’t necessary for Kadary to try to take his guy off the dribble to attack the rim and leave his feet with 2:35 left either. Gotta be smarter. Gotta know your value and time and place. 🤦‍♂️

But this is life with Kadary. A big physical guard that rebounds, plays aggressive defense while guarding multiple positions, and has to attack the rim or post-up as the only ways to score. Becomes injury prone that way.

I thought someone in the know in the BET thread said winning margin doesnt effect.

I hate the floor slapping.

I loved shakas comments on sha abd his team.

It was a 15 point game with about 4 minutes to go. Shaka was down 3 key guys. So a hockey line change would've been mainly deep bench players. I don't think he left his starters in for NET purposes. A couple quick pick 6's and it's a game with 2 and a half to go, fans are like what the heck and everyone says what if Seton Hall shoots like they did the first 5 minutes of the game. I'm no fan of Shaka. Was thrilled we beat him the first time we played this year. Thrilled he couldn't run his mouth with fans like he did last year. But I think he coached to get the W nothing more. They jumped 2 teams Baylor and Dayton in NET, who fell because they lost not because they didn't beat teams by enough.

I was at the game. They went on a quick run and no timeouts were called so no chance to put people in unless he himself called a TO to do so but it happened fast. I can tell you that. Don’t discount that he thought Sha would call one as I thought he would but he didn’t. For those complaining I guess you enjoyed participation trophies in your day. Toughen up and play the game. There are always things to work on in competition. PS. Sha and Shaka had a very nice exchange for an extended period before the game so you could see mutual respect.

While we don’t have the NET data, look at KP as an example. The teams at various levels are so close in aggregate number. The benefit of big wins and the efficiency you play with to get them can make a big difference as teams are slotting around constantly. Why teams jump.

To Shaka I guess slaughter in his eyes is respect, but to us opponents we don't respect. Kind of like the picture of Kolek on Instagram with the Big East champions, tournament champion and player of the year trophies surrounding him giving the middle finger with a BET Champion ring. Glad we don't represent ourselves like that. No matter if we win or lose, Marquette looks awful and glad we carry ourselves like we do.

No issue with Marq here. Usually in these 15 point games with a few minutes left it is up to the losing team to wave the flag and pull some of their starters, then the winning team usually follows suit. This is the reason Richmond and other SHU starters were in against SJ with several minutes to go.

Actually, I tend to think it’s the opposite: the leading team has traditionally saved its starters during an end of game in-hand situation for fear of injury (and what used to be sportsmanship). Their bench goes in first to get PT for the practice players as a reward.

It isn’t a big thing to me as the stronger teams usually have a stronger bench anyhow so the lead usually remains the same with second teams in.

All this doesn’t matter except to hopefully let SHU know they need to have a stronger roster if metrics matter.

Not just in blowouts, but injuries also of course.

Keeping his starters in got Kolek back in a rhythm and he goes for 30 tonight…
