SHU Sues Nyre

Here is the plan - We do an SHU reality show on what really happened and is happening. The corruption and players involved will rake in millions and we can have an embarrassed university but make a ton of $ to spend for NIL and have a great basketball team. This is a joke by the way but it could work ...

Crazy all of it. What a sad state of affairs at Seton Hall. Can the Board of Regents all step down please. This lawsuit clearly says what we've all been thinking. There must be something in that 2019 report they don't want out there. Now that they are caught they are going to make sure Nyre goes down with them.

A guy and his cronies embezzle more than a mill. Keep it quiet.

A sexual complain against a student. Keep it quiet.

McCarrick is upstairs doing the belly bump. Stay downstairs.

Three great examples for men and women to follow - dont do what SHU did.

The Pentagon Papers, SHU style...maybe you see a report about this crap being hidden and say it needs to see the light of day...

After the Nyre/Marino/embezzlement stuff, for our encore, we decide to hire as our next pres a guy associated with McCarrick. Just writing that, letting that thought slither thru my brain, makes me ill.

I don't know whether this suit has merit or not. Time will tell. I do think it is in SHU's best interest to settle with Nyre yesterday and move on. This suit almost certainly ensures that won't happen anytime soon.

Dont get into an all-out war with people who know all your dirty laundry.

And how in the world does the former President who is suing the school still have access to go on and download the schools most confidential files from One Drive, including as recently as last month? The first thing you do when someone stops working for you is revoke all access to company files, systems, etc.

I don't see what we have to gain by filing this lawsuit. The publicity is awful and Nyre can't have enough $$$ to make this worthwhile.SHU $$$ better spent against NIL fund.Should have made an undisclosed settlement already.Probably too many BOR are attorneys and caught up in the emotional elements of this situation.

Can the seton hall basketball team break up from the university since we bring in the money and pay players as employees?

The leadership is chaotic and from my limited scope, could be a direct correlation to lack of leadership when we jumped into the NIl/no sit transfer era.

Who at Seton Hall thinks it's a good idea to disseminate this (from the lawsuit)?

76. Despite Defendant’s agreement to not maintain or disseminate confidential information and to return all confidential information to the University and Defendant’s awareness of the University’s Acceptable Use Policy, the University learned that, on or about July 27, 2024, August 6, 2024, August 21, 2024, August 22, 2024, September 4, 2024, January 1, 2025, and January 3, 2025, Defendant improperly retrieved and downloaded confidential, proprietary and attorneyclient privileged electronic files from the University’s authorized document storage system, OneDrive.

This goes to show that, in actual fact, idiots are running Seton Hall. Not to mention the violations of state and federal law.

Great security there. I assume we don't use Crowdstrike but maybe we should.

Especially interesting that they are going hard after Nyre. If he broke the law they should. But why did they not initially go hard after the folks who stole $1.5 from the law school? Why was that any different?

As if his resignation and subsequent lawsuit wouldn't be enough to make sure he can no longer access Confidential Files from OneDrive, they still did not revoke access after the original Politico story broke even though they knew he was the origin of the leak.

SHU IT stands for Incapable of Task

This will not be explosive. But it will retell the story so many have already heard.

You'll understand when it happens.
