Hofstra takes 4th set. Let's see how the gals handle this 5th and final set.

Seton Hall wins in 5 sets! Great match. Down 9-4 in the 5th set and they somehow come back
to win 15-13. Hofstra has to be pulling their hair out right now. SHU seemed like they were headed for defeat. The first year players really stepped up against the more experienced Hofstra squad.

The Pirates need to complete the weekend by beating Temple. They used a good deal of energy this morning and they've struggled in the past with this 7 hour gap in between matches A victory here would have the Volleyball team off to as good a start as could be expected with all the newcomers. The returning players are real good and bring NCAA tournament experience to the table You figure it will take some time to mesh it all together. The coaching staff is good and they get a lot out of the roster

Looks like they added some quality freshman who are making significant contributions.

After a tough first game The Hall beats Temple pretty soundly 3-0. Nice to win your
home tournament with so many Freshman. Walsh wasn't packed, but you had a very
nice atmosphere with a good student turnout for Labor Day Weekend.

Beating Hofstra was nice because they are a solid local program. Beating Notre Dame
in anything is excellent because of the disparity in athletic budgets. Plus it's sweet when
you have players from their backyard.

Still tough to gauge what this season will be like. They lost quite a bit of talent. Creighton
and Marquette both beat top 10 teams today which is great for the conference. Seems like the program
is still in good shape. The level of play in Women's Volleyball has really improved across the board
in the past decade. Good bounce back weekend for The Pirates.
