SHU vs Butler game thread

Hall down 9 under 12 minutes. We can't get stops and Butler has taken away the paint
from our guards.

Tough call, but maybe Singh can gets some looks from the perimeter. Not feeling
good so far.

Getting a nice combo of good bounces and good calls too

Lazy fighting through screens a couple times and it's killed us.

Hall down 67-62 under 7 minutes. Much better last few minutes. We just let
Butler score when they really need a basket. They have so many ways to score
and our switching is not up to speed. More guys getting involved for The Hall.

Coming back to win here would be huge. The crowd is becoming a factor.

Very entertaining game. Might come down to wire. Nice job hanging in there when it looked like it might get away.

I know this is probably "fanspeak" but why does it seem like the other team is ALWAYS in the bonus first in the second half of games

Butler is better team tonight. Need to forget it and start another winning streak and secure a bid.

Down 9 under 4 minutes.

We are just being schooled by their offense. Our defensive IQ was poor tonight.

Gordon can't miss this many free throws.

still time.

Not taking anything away from our guys as I think they've played a hell of a season, but Butler is just clicking right now and a much more fundamentally sound team in terms of offensive sets. Our defense, a usual strength of ours, has been just plain bad today.

It means stop with the complaints about the officiating. It's a loser's lament and tiresome. No one complains when we're winning, so maybe sometimes it's just the way we're playing.

People dont complain about call when were winning?? That is new to me. I hear people complain every game. My section at the Georgetown game complained about the refs pretty frequently.

What he means is Butler is just as good, if not better than us. And when you factor in coaching and basketball IQ, its not even close
Well, sometimes that's the case, sometimes it isn't. But Butler is talented and well coached, so it's not like we're above losing to them. I can't see the game, so I can't interpret what's happening, but (and I'm not singling out that particular poster) it's beyond tedious to read post after post about bad whistles when it almost never has any effect on the outcome.

As a fan base, we know well that it can make a difference (thinking Clougherty here), but not five different times a game. It's just frustration speaking.

There's a difference between complaining about it and actually being right about it.

No you said no one ever complains about the calls when were winning. Also, I never said it was why we lost. I said there were two bail out fail calls. At that point in the game it was frustrating

The point is, it's just farting into the wind for all the good it does, or how often it actually winds up being accurate and justified.
