SHU Women @SJU

Women have come all the way back to cut it to 2 at the end of 3rd quarter.

50-48

Hall loses 71-69. They miss a 3 pointer for the win by S. Richardson at the buzzer.

They do enough to lose every time at SJU.

At least the Ladies are competitive and are warriors, unlike the "kitty cat" boys team.

VegasPJ, I for the most part agree with your comments. They don't give up. Having said that
a few of the gals are not bringing the proper focus to every game. I mean they look like they
have been sleepwalking to start these contests. They were down 16 in the first half today and
32 against DePaul. I give them credit for bouncing back, but my gut says Tony is probably exasperated right now.

They do have a lot of talent, but they don't always play as a cohesive unit. In addition there
is ball hogging going on at times. There are sets where the player with the ball has no intention
of giving it up. It also leads to frustration fouls.

They better REMEMBER this game and put in on their calendars for the rematch in NJ.

Bad week for the SHU Women's Team.

It was tied at the end of the first quarter.

For the third consecutive game they played a ridiculously bad second quarter (24-10) where the defense was non-existent, they missed easy shots and took some very bad shots.

Bozzella went off during the interview at the end of halftime. He was on fire, and highly critical of the team's effort.

The Pirates won the third quarter and tied in the fourth.

So the team needs to play all four quarters. This team is very good.

I think there could be a little bit of an attitude and discipline issue. Perhaps some players started to get big heads? Perhaps some players are playing too much one-on-one? For example, TRS, senior, of all people, did not start today due to a "coach's decision."

She ended up with 34 points. Jones grabbed 12 rebounds.

Unfortunately, Jones and Powell were 1-10 on threes. Players missed many chippies and they missed several critical free throws in the last three minutes.

And as the TV analyst said, when you are double or triple-teamed, don't force it. Pass the ball to an open player,

If you take away the second quarter, they played a great game on the road. Players need to realize that all four quarters count.
