At Half... Slow start to the 1st quarter... 2nd quarter the team came on strong leading by as many as 14 or 16... Tab with 18 points already... Tiff Jones with 8 rebounds... Gordon has 9 points and 4 boards.

Kena Richardson and Aleesha Powell starting off slow... Byrne, Mosley and TT Smith with plenty of 1st half minutes as well.

SHU with 9 turnovers in the first half... Powell, Mosley, Kena (and I believe Byrne) all with 2 fouls.

52-33 about halfway through the 3rd... Kena, Mosley & Aleesha all with 3 fouls... Tiff Jones starting to come on this quarter... Gordon is having a monster game.
 
12 point game with 2 minutes left. At Joe's making a bit of a run. Not good.
 
12 point win. Jones came back in at the end to hit a 3 to extend the lead to 15 before the bench was cleared with about a minute remaining.
 
SJU broadcasters very complimentary towards SH team - style of play etc. during and after game. Don't often get that from opponents.

66-54. Another fine performance, although the last quarter was ragged . The team needs a rest. Just played 3 games in 6 days. Off they go to UT- Arlington for a Tuesday night game.

Seniors Tab Richradson-Smith- 21 pts, Tiffany Jones- 16, Junior C Lubirdia Gordon -12.

We should be top 20 next week.

When I checked board & saw I could stream game, I couldn't believe I turned off the TV (football) to watch. What a difference a coach makes. Team is fun to watch and they move the ball very quickly around the perimeter. Good luck in Texas.

PJ, this is what we have been saying - it's not just "okay our WBB is doing well" - it's "hey watch this - it's both good and fun and our team is outstanding!" - I think your comment is perfect - it's what everyone should know / experience about this team.

We were within 10-15 of coach throughout the game and got a world of listening and learning - what he was saying, tone, instruction, working with the refs - wow - it was a total ball!

Number 1 key ingredient for a successful program is to find the right person to run it.

Number 1 key ingredient for a program to not have success is to have the wrong person run it.

Is there a better example to illustrate the point then the contrast between the women's and men's basketball programs at Seton Hall.

They won me over watching them throttle RU. Hooked me with the victory over the Tigers. I'm in.

As they say in that room adjacent to the casino in the local hotels - "BINGO!".
 
A must win. The Hawks are coming off a 13-17 season, and were picked to finished 7th in the A-10. The Pirates accomplished what they needed to do on the road.

The Pirates have to have tired legs yet they looked strong. I hope to see the Pirates ranked in the USA Today poll in a couple of days. Incredibly, they received no votes in the AP poll.

Tiffany Jones is now shooting a blazing 11-19 (58 percent) from 3-point land. TRS at 48 percent (15-31) is also a high percentage.

The team has shown a sharp increase in their free throw shooting at 77 percent compared to 66 percent last season. The few games they lost last season could have been won with better free throw shooting. So that's a big sign of improvement.

Gordon, for example, bricked her first two shots today. Then she hit four in a row. She just really looked focused.

BTW, did the Pirate come home or head straight to Texas?
 
I heard most of the game on the radio. If you watched this team play in the last few
years it was pretty easy to visualize. I thought TRS had to step up in this game because
of K Richardson being banged up. She did and that led the way.

So they are 4-0 and this upcoming week will be interesting. Long way to go and they have so
much business to take care of, but they are putting together a nice early season resume.

I agree that the 4th quarter today was probably because of the 3 tough games this week, but
they have to find a way to score in the last portions of games. That has been an issue sometimes
in the past. The prior teams did a lot of crazy stuff in the last 10 minutes of games. This team isn't
as bad and they just have to execute a bit more.

Gordon and Gordon have elevated their play this season and that's making a difference. It's amazing
that they have become a highly respectable basketball program in just 3 years.

I was at that game too - very impressed. This is one terrific team and well coached - they play with purpose, defend well, take good shots, play within the system and there's good team chemistry. They trust each other and boy do they have great form at the free throw line - great rotation on the ball for most of the players. This team is for real and the coach has a system that works. I haven't enjoyed a game as much because the basketball is so fundamentally sound!

This being the 3rd game in a short period explains the 4th quarter. Up big, tired and coast home. This team will be fun to watch and should have a nice season.
