Sometimes we, and that includes me, don't realize how difficult it is when you first transfer, blending in with your new teammates and a new coach's philosophy.
He'll get straightened out eventually as will our transfers, but it will take a while.
i watched part of the game the other night. cant believe they blew that lead. i have never rooted against a BE team in a big ooc game, but was shocked i really didn't care if they lost. i think that is anti repole/nil feelings but maybe just jealousy. kr made a kr play early in ot but wasn't himself. whilsher hit a 3, sju up by 4 i think under a minute and i either changed the channel or fell asleep.
I haven't watched them a lot. Saw the Baylor game and parts of several others. Some observations...
KR does a lot of deferring and trying to set up the offense. Pointing everyone where to go, not pounding the ball a lot. Tries to take over more in big moments. Another big change from SH is the defense Pitino plays. Sha put Kadary in the most non-demanding defensive position basically as a Free Safety who guarded the weak side corner and didn't do a lot of switching on to faster guards. He just had to be in weakside position to gobble up defensive rebounds and loose balls.
Pitino has him playing legit man to man defense on good players. He guarded freshman stud VJ Edgecombe in the Baylor game all over the court.
Also in the Baylor game he played 45 minutes and came out of the game wincing a couple times clutching what appeared to be his hamstrings. Could be cramping, could be something else related to his back/posterior. Now 3rd game in 4 days I'm not surprised he had a poor game.
I think he's adjusting to the new team and new style which is very different from Sha. St Johns has a lot of talent and I think they will figure it out. If they held on vs Baylor they'd be in great shape. I'm not looking forward to playing them with the way we look so far.
