St Johns/Nova

Just a question. Three separate SJU beat writers told me with benefits that Repole laid out nearly $2M to get Richmond to come back 'home'. Have you heard differently?

And regarding Repole...If he quietly brought in Richmond and others then yes, I would have less of an issue because as you noted he was 'playing by the rules'. But his constant harping both behind the scenes and in the papers how he brought Richmond to SJU irritated a lot of people at the Hall and me as well.

Im shocked they have 3 separate beat writers lol.

Repole is a tool, but I don’t blame him for taking shit. It’s a rivalry and he dismantled our program. All within the rules. If we don’t like it, we should do something about it.

Agree with all that , plus by boasting he is bringing attention to other top kids looking to transfer that SJU is willing to do what it takes to bring in players.

Unless they go on a major run, I don't think X or Nova deserve a bid. The field is quite deep this year. I changed channels a lot last night & caught parts of some very entertaining games. Az State went to 2OT with TxTech, atmosphere was insane. On the other extreme. ND at BC also went to 2OT. Crowd at Conte looked like a HS Freshman game. They are drawing even less than we are. What a shame.

I agree. There's still time but I don't think they're near the cut line, but they definitely have a shot to pull up there.

Villanova (15-10, 8-6) is #52 in the NET, but only 1-5 Q1, 5-2 Q2. They also have 3 Q3/Q4 losses, woof. Also #322 non-con SOS, but did beat Cincinnati (NET #47). Critical stretch for them today with Providence, Connecticut, and Marquette. Their last 3 are Seton Hall, Butler, Georgetown.

Xavier (15-10, 7-7) is #54 in the NET, similarly only 1-8 Q1, 6-2 Q2. Zero Q3/Q4 losses. #229 non-con SOS beating Wake Forest (NET #65). Their next 3 are DePaul, Butler, Seton Hall... Need to load up. They end with Creighton, Butler, Providence.

X can easily win 5 of 6; Nova can also, but a tougher stretch.

I say X wins the 5, Nova wins 4...and then they need 1 or 2 in the BE tourney to get in.
