Anyone here see any improvement in Richmonds game?
I know it wasn't about the $$$ but how playing for pitino would maximize his potential..

his midrange seems to be falling more consistently. Not much else has changed.

Didn’t watch, but what happened with KR? The box score says he was 10/5/3 steals in 22 minutes. And the article I read this morning says he was limited with patellar tendinitis.

Did something actually happen with him or is it just message board speculation?

Without Bryce, PC might be worse than us.
Hopkins hasn’t been himself coming back from the injury and his body obviously isn’t responding well to it or he wouldn’t be in and out.

I like Providence’s guards (Pierre and Joseph( and the wings should be able to score the ball (Shareef, Carder etc) but the big kid transferring from St Joe’s seems like he’s been a disappointment IMO.

Still tbink Providence will be at least OK in the league even if Hopkins continues to struggle getting back because of the HC.

Kinda the same sort of movement / intensity we saw him from last year where you were wondering if he’s hurt or doesn’t want to be there. Early in first half wasn’t running up the court, slow on defense, not attacking the hoop. Started the second half on the bench

So maybe he was actually hurt, they were losing, and so Pitino staggered his minutes in the second half since he had developed some depth to do that?

I was flipping back and forth and heard Pitino's water carrier Brando talking about how Rick is "old school" which is why Richmond was benched and that Holloway is more "contemporary" and said he had to let, "Kadary be Kadary." 🙄

St. John's is still a bit erratic. That should improve as the season goes on. There's a clear cut gap between them, Connecticut, Marquette, and the rest of the league. IDK what's up with Creighton. Then Villanova may emerge from the rest of the mess. Nobody else is any good. Georgetown has probably the best talent of the rest.
I think UConn and Marquette are a step above everyone else although I’ve seen them probably the most.

SJ and UConn are 1A/B with Marquette slightly behind them. Kam jones is the best scorer in the league but not sure Ben gold / Joplin are strong enough defensively in the front court.

Both SJ and UConn played Baylor in close games with one of BU’s top scorers out vs UConn . Going to be heck of a matchup at MSG

See I think it’s the opposite. Uconn and Marquette looking like 1A and 1B and SJU in the next tier behind them. I question SJU’s outside shooting unless Wilcher, Scott, Luis, Smith etc can consistently make 3s at a decent clip. Uconn IMO has at least 3 guys who I think will be really good shooters between Ball (who looks like a stud), McNasty and Karaban. Can really space the floor and I think Marquette can do that too between Cam, Joplin, Gold etc

Valid points. SJ shot 3/18 from the 3ball last night. Was the reason the game was as close as it was. PC packed in the paint

as we see from Marquette now against X- defense inside the arc isn’t as good as it’s been the last few years and I think they will get knocked off a few times this year

Agreed, I think Marquette's concern is the interior/paint/glass, because both Joplin and Gold are stretch bigs.

I think Uconn is rounding into tip-top shape. The concern for them, I think, is that they went from legit first team all league guys at the guards spots and Center spots in back-to-back years. NBA level guys. Their two Centers are good, probably getting better and compliment each other well, but it's a tall task to ask them to replicate Sanogo and Clingan, just like it is tall task to ask Diarra/Ball/Mahaney etc to replicate Newton/Hawkins/Castle. I do think Ball is developing though into a stud even though he didn't play well today.

Agree about Marquette. Gold is 7’1” but wants to be a wing and shoot 3s.

Wow --Xavier got "homed" by Refs at Home. Great game and Xavier showed guts
