Summer Baseball Update: Pirates Shining On The Cape - Seton Hall University Athletics
Summer baseball is in full swing and the Seton Hall baseball program has multiple players participating in leagues on the East Coast.
South Orange, N.J. -- Summer baseball is in full swing and the Seton Hall baseball program has multiple players participating in leagues on the East Coast.
In the Cape Cod Baseball League, arguably the top collegiate summer baseball league in the country, there are three Pirates that have gotten off the strong starts. Coming off of an All-BIG EAST season at shortstop for The Hall, rising senior Max Viera (Greenwood Lake, N.Y.) is hitting .447 (17-for-38) with seven RBI and seven stolen bases in nine games for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He leads the CCBL in both hits and stolen bases.
Rising junior Dan Frontera (Red Bank, N.J.) is 2-0 with seven strikeouts and no runs allowed in two appearances on the mound for the Wareham Gatemen. Most recently he went six innings and allowed no earned runs while striking out four in a winning decision over the Bourne Braves on June 18. Rising junior Jedier Hernandez (Trenton, N.J.) has the made the most of his three appearances for Wareham as he's gone 3-for-9 at the plate with two runs scored.
