We play top ten Ohio St on CBS. They have Jimmy Jackson and i think Lawrence Funderburke made his debut. But we had Terry and Jerry. Leahy shot his ass off. Artie and Caver did their thing. Gordie was Gordie. Luther showed us the promise of his game. Terry did the best dunk i have ever seen from a SH player, facializing Funderburke on a fast break.

Pirates win!!! When I graduated I never dreamed we could be this good. Who knows how things unfold from now on. I have my doubts and I hope for the best.

I was thinking about that today. I was at that game. We were one of the top teams in country back then. Great memories during my four years at the hall. Doubt we see it again with this new environment. Sad situation right now.

Wasn’t local Chris Jent also on that Ohio State team? Sparta kid if I’m remembering correctly.

Kid was goodĺ
i sat across from our bench then. opponents fans always sat a row behind us (mr winchesters Mom was close by too. didnt know that till sr night). and the guys in the seats that day were friends of jent. good guys. he could play.

Met Funderburke at NCAA game a few years back and asked him if he remembered that. He laughed and said the most humbling part of it was that he had to catch Terry on the way down to save him from injury. Funderburke was a very very nice guy.

I watched the game from home on the television. I was carrying my infant son so that he would fall asleep for his nap. I held my breath everytime Jimmy Jackson shot the ball. SHU held on for the win with my son fast asleep. My son is now 32.

What an awesome day. the memories of walking the cattle bridge! Great times.

remember - that team was 7 years removed from a 2 win BE season, and 3 years removed from the National Championship. 4 years from the bottom to the top, How nuts was that?
There are reasons you never say "never". Sure things suck right now. Things can and do change quickly. What was that Jimmy V line again?

Good to bad, or bad to good, the pendulum always seems to swing for SHU hoops.
