It's long past time Israel eradicated the cancer that is Hamas. Should have been done years ago. Sadly, there will be collateral damage on both sides but enough is enough, I fully support Israel and what they are doing. However, I don't believe in any U.S. aid ($$$ or weapons) to Israel, Gaza, or Hamas for any reason.
You ain't kiddin. No clue, and an absolutely zero knowledge of history. But he'll spout off against the Catholic Church for the Crusades, a land grab BACK from the Muslims.
You'd be surprised at how many innovations and discoveries--military, technological and humanitarian-- Israel has produced with our money that benefit the world. Without our military and financial assistance Israel would probably have been gone a long time ago. Better to give them what they need then to send our troops over there.
I'm starting to believe more and more that the US should take a isolation approch. We have enough to worry about in our own back yard.
SPK, more disturbing that what we give in aid to Israel (which admittedly is exorbitant), is the MILLIONS upon millions that we give to most other countries in the world. Pakistan, Egypt, Israel, Iraq and Afganistan cumulative received 27 BILLION dollars in 2012. I'm sure it has increased significantly since then. Even more disturbing is the 266 BILLION approx we are paying just in interest on borrowed money. Yet we have 27 billion to give away.
To be perfectly honest, I would rather give the money to Israel than institutionalized welfare recipients who are citizens in our own nation. Although, I would also rather burn the money in a large bonfire than give it to institutionalized welfare recipients so maybe that isn't saying much.
To take it a step further, the billions in aid given to foreign countries is not nearly as disturbing to me as the millions of dollars, aid, and WEAPONRY given to self proclaimed radical terrorist groups such as Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda branches. Yes, the same groups we are supposedly fighting against in Afghanistan, and American dollars are being spent by the billions on, and Americans are losing their lives, are the same groups we are funding in Syria and Egypt!!! The same groups called Enemies of America are given millions in aid and weaponry when our president considers it in his interest to support these terror groups in other countries. In other words, Al-qaeda is our enemy in America and Afghanistan, but not in Syria. How our president is not tried for treason, is an indicator of the ignorance and lackadaisical mentality of the average American.
I have no doubt that many on this Board , just as I do , have very strong views on many of the issues discussed on this thread but 75 is right that those issues should be moved to the appropriate Board .
