It is called a mistake. GOP Party passed the resolution. Does that make it any better that this happens in this country? You would rather criticize me than the substance of what occurred in Texas. You dismiss it as silly when a state like Texas which is dominated by Republican talk about seceding from the country.

Too many cowards on the Republican who are afraid to speak the truth. This is a big part of it. When it was Watergate we had men of integrity to stand up to Nixon like Barry Goldwater. We have too few now. Trump believes and practices this. "If you tell a big enough lie and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

The Democratic Party in California never voted to secede from the nation. There was a movement that failed to even get it on the ballot. You do not see the difference between a fringe movement and the Party itself promoting secession?

Again, deny the Trump movement is a great threat to our country. I guess January 6th wasn't enough to convince you.

It’s not about the legality it’s about the thinking that we have a President that was elected due to voter fraud. IT is a belief that whatever Trump states no matter what evidence clearly debunks it is believed. It is not about having different opinions, there are different facts. It is so bad that the fringe is the majority now and these ideas and beliefs are extremely dangerous.

And you equate the summer riots of crimes actions with the attempt to stop a duly elected President from taking office and thereby trying to overthrow our country?

They literally tried to invalidate Biden's election win, which would have prevented him from taking office. Why are you saying nobody attempted to stop him from taking office? What are you even talking about?

Let's see. Trump and his followers attempted to stop certifying the election results. They tried by fraudulent claims in court, they tried by getting states to send "alternative electors, and finally Trump and his followers invaded the Capitol to stop this constiutiuional process. in order to send the country into a Constitutional crisis. All to keep Donald Trump as President. That is an attempted coup. No histrionics .Just facts.

Why are you so certain it would have failed? It sure sounds like Mike Pence was going around fishing for an approval to do what Donald Trump and John Eastman wanted him to do.

Do you really have any faith in our institutions to prevent something like this from happening? Because I don't.

I responded that yes indeed people tried for a coup and your response is so what, it would not have succeeded? The fact that there was an attempt to stop the Constitutional proceeding for what truly makes this country great is the peaceful transition of power, is a disgusting and dangerous act which continues to this day.

One of the members of that band of crazies is the former President. You dismiss this as nothing. He has a hard core of 32% of the country that follows him at every turn. I would not call that a small band of crazies. There are no greater threats to this country than Trump.

This is essentially the official party position in the GOP now. In Texas, all they did was just put it in writing.

So yeah, it seems bad.

He will contest the election and he will stir up his right wing attack dogs that this was a coup or a fraud and that the left is stealing the election so “we” have to fight. There will be that message and there will be violence.

I have not watched. I have almost zero interest in them.

I'm more concerned with $5 gas, rampant inflation, the bear market and a probable recession. Not something that happened a year and a half ago.
