I don't think the guys on the bench for the most part like Brown and Sanders and Tubek have played all that much for any length of time in a game to really draw any conclusions about future potential to help. When they come in they know they are only in to give a starter a rest and they expect the other vets to take the shots and hence don't really try to rock the boat. So I am more optimistic than many of you.
I hope they all develop quickly into capable back-ups, but we need the roster space. We have too many of these players. They’re all projects so that’s the nature of the game with such and these are looooooong term project types, that’s why we got them so late. We are going to need more depth in the future if it’s available faster as they’re going to take a long time, if ever. See how NIL goes.
**Tubek has shown he can do things in his whopping 33 BE minutes and the game is not too fast for him. He’s got some size and versatility, gave us some great minutes in the home game with Marquette. But the guys is constantly injured. One of those?
**Brown flashes some PG/shooting skills. But he’s so undersized. It’s tough. The kid has played 19 BE minutes through only 5 of our 10 BE games, 15 in the past two down Kadary with 11 in a blowout, LOL. He’s not even on the radar to contribute. You can’t rely on his development at all as BE may be too high for him. You see what did against lesser levels, like the Monmouth game.
**NgaNga I was watching going back to NJIT given our dearth at the 4-spot and the fact he at least had a recruiting credential. But the guy looks like he’s never been on a court still. He’s appeared in only 2 of our BE games, a total of 8 minutes and 5 of those came at Marquette. Woof. He’s got athleticism and size, so worth seeing if it ever clicks.
**Ozdogan? I mean, he’s played 4 total game minutes since Thanksgiving.
That’s 4 guys! Not to mention the roster spot for Harris. There’s literally nothing after the Starting 5, then Sanders (what’s he do?), Coleman and Hutchins-Everett. We knew this was the case, why the 6-1 start was so surprising and enjoyable
