I think we have to keep some perspective right now. Without Richmond it was going to be tough at Marquette. They are a very good team with interesting components. It was disappointing how the team performed in the second half. What's done is done. The NEXT ONE is such an important game. Of course, they changed their coach right before we get to them. DePaul on the road and Providence at home have become our nemesis opponents.

The Richmond situation is tricky and sensitive. What I would say is if there is any way he can be in uniform it would be a big lift to the team. Could he play some minutes? You don't even have to start him. If not, this team better play this game like it's an NCAA Tournament game. NO WAY can they let Depaul get comfortable. So, the starters have to play pissed off and with focus.

Dawes was due for an off-shooting game. No issues with a guy who put up 20+ points in the proceeding 3 games. Sha has to shorten that rotation for this one. Playing in front of 18,000 at Marquette was intimidating for our reserves and that's understandable. However, if Sha puts them on the court they need to play with confidence and focus. Really for the rest of the season. We worry about who stays and who goes after the campaign concludes.

I agree, but Sha has to get them to play within their skillsets. Bediako looked very good on offense and defensively for a half. I think Wusu has to stick to perimeter and work harder to get to the midrange shots. Driving to the rim is a disaster for him right now. Without Richmond everyone is sliding over one spot and there was a ton of confusion. We still have to give Marquette a lot of credit for ball movement. As I said the bench players were intimidated playing there today. Now they need to relax and give their coach what he needs off the bench. No way can they launch shots at Depaul or have the silly turnovers.

DePaul doesn’t have an Oduro or an Ighodaro. Or a Carter or a Joplin.

Or a Ben Gold, lol!

Yes, but they will shoot with a clear head as always. I agree that Marquette is a bad matchup for SHU.

It’s never been easy for us with them in recent years. Both games last year were very tight. And they beat us out there the year before, then we only beat them at home by 2.

And obviously the epic disaster in the BET last year when they upset us.

That’s 5 tight games, 2 wins by them. We probably don’t even have the firepower to run them out by 15; that’s what we need.

Seton Hall should win the game on paper, but I have a feeling this is going to be a battle. DePaul is a historically bad major conference team by the numbers, but the coaching change has seemed to help them a bit. They've looked decent in stretches against Marquette and tonight against Creighton. We always seem to play sloppy in that gym too.

I think Marquette would have beaten us today even with KR.Tough to beat a top team at home.
