This payroll is something

Perhaps Kentucky would be interested in stashing some recruits at the Hall.

Being a farm team for high majors might be our best chance of competing.

Even if they win they bought the victories
Everyone is “buying” the victories. Most “bought” victories in the past too, it was just less money and less out in the open.

Both Kentucky and Michigan have multiple transfers in Evan Miya’s top 25 list. If you think he’s the “bible” and is indicative at least in part of what market value is out there, what do you think those rosters cost?

None of this guarantees success or even NCAA success. Look at examples from last year like Kansas State, Indiana, etc.

But what’s the alternative. Would you rather be a fan of a team that spends and has a good year but gets knocked out early, or a team that doesn’t get players for whatever reason and sucks. From a fan perspective, it’s pretty easy.

As a Yankee fan, this reminds me of debates I’ve had with fans of other teams for the last 30 years.

The good news is that we know the teams we want to root against. These idiotic schools are unnaturally driving up the price. It is kind of like stocks trading at $100 that have never made a profit. It will eventually burst.

That's what people say about the Dodgers. Or the Mets. Or the Yankees, although it used to be more "Yankee centric".

If you are those teams though, what is the alternative? If you have the ability, it would be malfeasance to do otherwise. For all schools, all coaches, and all fans, it's about winning. Whether it is Kentucky being will to pay whatever to get a kid, or Willard hiring Tiny to save his job.
