New York, N.Y. - The Seton Hall men's basketball team has three players that have been named to Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association All-Met teams and head coach Shaheen Holloway has been named Peter A. Carlesimo All-Met Men's Division I Coach of the Year, the MBWA announced Wednesday.

Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y) was named All-Met First Team and Dre Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J.) were named All-Met Second Team. Seton Hall's three selections is its most since four Pirates were voted to All-Met teams in 2019-20. Holloway earns Met Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career and the first time as the head coach of his alma mater.

An All-BIG EAST First Team and NABC First Team All-District selection, Richmond adds to his postseason accolades by being tabbed to the top team in the Metropolitan Area. Richmond finished as the only player in the BIG EAST to finish in the top 11 in scoring (15.7 points per game), rebounding (6.9 rebounds per game) and assists (5.1 assists per game). In five NIT games, Richmond averaged 13.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists en route to the Pirates winning their first NIT championship since 1953. Nine of Richmond's 14 career 20-point games came against BIG EAST competition this season, including just the second triple-double in program history when he put up 21 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists on Jan. 20 against Creighton.

Davis was arguably Seton Hall's most important player this past season. He was just the sixth BIG EAST player since 2010-11 to average at least 16 points per game, shoot 50 percent rom the floor and 80 percent from the free-throw line in conference play. Along with earning NIT All-Tournament honors after posting 16.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in five contests, Davis scored the game-winning layup with just over 10 seconds left that helped seal the NIT championship for Seton Hall. He set career highs in nearly every major offensive category including scoring (15.0 points per game), rebounding (5.9 rebounds per game) and blocks (1.3 blocks per game).

Dawes capped off an impressive two seasons in South Orange by being named Most Outstanding Player of the 2024 NIT after averaging 21.0 points on 46 percent shooting from three-point range and 94 percent shooting from the free-throw line while also pulling down 5.6 rebounds per game. Dawes's 91 made three-pointers was the fifth-most by a BIG EAST player this season and it's tied for eighth-most in Seton Hall history. His 1,294 minutes played in 2023-24 was the most in a single season in program history and the most since Andrew Gaze played 1,240 minutes in the 1988-89 season. In his final collegiate season, Dawes set career highs in scoring (15.0 points per game), free-throw shooting (93.5 percent) and minutes (35.0 minutes per game).

Holloway authored one of the most memorable seasons in Seton Hall history in 2023-24 and he continued to set a new standard for coaches at his alma mater. Holloway led a team that was picked to finish ninth in the BIG EAST preseason coaches poll to a fourth place finish in the BIG EAST and a 13-7 conference record. Despite being one of the top teams that narrowly missed out on the NCAA Tournament, a decision that defied historical precedent for a BIG EAST program, Holloway and The Hall captivated the University community and the college basketball world by guiding the Pirates to the 2024 NIT championship that culminated in a 79-77 win over Indiana State at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The championship was Seton Hall's second national postseason championship following the historic 1953 NIT championship season. Holloway's 42 wins and 32 BIG EAST victories through two seasons are the most of any Seton Hall coach in program history. The Pirates' 13 BIG EAST wins this season is tied for the second-most in school history and their 25 overall victories is tied for fourth all-time at Seton Hall.

Congrats guys!!!
Obviously we know who the best player in the metro area is.

Double-double guy in the BE and led the conference in rebounding again. I mean if we had a guy with those stats I’m sure no one would have an issue with his inclusion.
