It was brought to my attention by a St. John’s fan that our team is running out of the locker room to a song by diddy, before switching to the band.

The song is called victory. This is incredibly embarrassing given the allegations. Another huge mishap by the department if true. I will not be in attendance tonight but curious if someone can confirm

I hope this isn't correct, just read the lyrics. I would get banned if I posted them here.

The song is from the late 90s

The song goes hard (insert Diddy joke). But yea…SJU fan has a point. We got mad here for Sanders wearing his hood during the anthem. Only reason nobody here has gotten mad is because they didn’t know that the song is Diddy’s haha

There needs to be a distinguished mark...is the song playing in full or a sample of the instrumental? This is a program/school team that doesn't shy away from urban music. As for Diddy he appears to not be a character of a postive moral compass.

according to the guy who brought this up, there’s 2 other artists in the song and we specifically only played the diddy part

I liked when they did the intro to Where The Streets Have No Name for player introductions. Think that was Orr Era, def Meadowlands.

Correct it was sampled from going the distance bill conti i believe and the other 2 voices are the late notorious big and busta rhymes

The DJ mutes out Diddys voice. Not our biggest concern right now

It was a popular song for sports teams in the mid 90s, Diddy's verse especially. My wrestling came out to it in high school. This has to be 100% Sha as he's likely harkening back to his salad days.

Gotta be honest, we have bigger problems than this to worry about right now.

School might want to consider picking up the tab on the parking lots the rest of the season. People didn’t want to pay for pretzels when we were making the NCAA tournament. You think they want to pay for parking when we’re competing for last place.
Lol… it’s funny you bring up parking. I parked on a side street today since I was tired of paying 20,25,30 bucks for parking. Got a ticket. Lol

I stopped going and I can't even give away my season tickets at this point. By the time I hire a babysitter, cover parking and a few concessions, I'm north of $100 on top of the ticket cost every time I go. Not throwing away more money like that just to watch this trainwreck. It's sad because I maybe missed 5 games in 12 years prior to our "NIL" era.

Not to pile on but a bit of a blessing the games are mostly on Peacock. Like being in witness protection that saves more eyes from witnessing this mess.

So much for HS rankings as this may have been one of the teams that had the greatest number of 3/4 stars in recent memory.

What a scam. Use to be able to park on streets near arena. No more. Another reason for fans to stay away.

HS ratings mean nothing when you can bring in a 4th 5th or 6th year players in at will. They’re more physically and mentally mature and they’re ready to win now. Guys ranked 300s 4 years ago are more valuable than guys ranked 75th this year.

I guess you haven't seen the new issue of the Seton Hall magazine, have you?
Classic Seton Hall, with the person embroiled in scandal as the cover story. On the one hand, I know this was already printed by the time the Politco story broke last week. On the other hand, they decided to do it in the first place. To be fair, the people doing the magazine probably were unaware of the facts behind this guy and would've had no basis for declining a feature on the president. As usual, the screw-up came from much higher up.

As far as the music, it's not ideal (and I don't know the lyrics in particular, so take it for what it's worth), but there are enough degrees of separation between Puffy and our program that playing it in and of itself doesn't indict Seton Hall. Our team doesn't want to come out to Pat Boone, so we have to understand that. But if the ideal is to go old school, A Tribe Called Quest always hits right.

It went straight into the garbage at my house. I'll be up there once a year for Breakfast with Santa for a few more years, but we're about done here.

The Politico story came out on Dec. 22.
