For those who would like to do a little pre-holiday scouting, this game is on ESPNU at 5:00 PM. High Point is supposed to be pretty good, so it should be agood barometer of Georgia's strength .

Having lived in the Triad region of North Carolina (Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point), I've seen High Point. Georgia should win very comfortably. But we'll see.

Georgia is 1-1 losing to Chatanouga 92-90 in overtime and beating Murray State.

Now I *really* want to scout Georgia! (have bad memories in re the WBB from last year)

Well, we certainly have a shot at Georgia after that sorry performance vs High Point. But we can't expect them to shoot 3-22 in the 2nd half again can we?

I did not see second half but they sure looked like we will have a strong chance on Saturday night.

Oof. 49-46 win for UGA over High Point. Neither team shot even 30% from the floor and Georgia had 16 turnovers.

Last year their forwards really hurt us and hammered us right off the bat, if I recall. And we couldn't hit a lick from the perimeter.

They have at least two very good perimeter shooters. We need to do a good job on shutting them down.

Lock down D plus they employee the weave offense. Classic confrontation of polar opposites.

I don't have high hopes for us at GW, but think we can get this win Saturday night against Georgia. Hopefully a lively crowd on hand at The Rock.

Lively is going to be an understatement. I'm bringing all my buddies will be the rowdy group a row back at center court

Come join the party

I hate when we play a team right after they play poorly. Expect them to play/shoot a lot better

From a column in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on the Georgia vs. High Point game:

The result of the game put Georgia coach Mark Fox in a good enough mood to rip sardonically into his team on Wednesday night.

“Dr. Naismith is buried in a small cemetery in Lawrence, Kan., not two miles from Allen Fieldhouse. A very small cemetery,” Fox said at the outset of his postgame press conference. “And he rolled over in his grave tonight with the way we played offensive basketball.”

In that putrid second half, Georgia made only three field goals, scored 16 points, and at one point went nearly 15 minutes with a field goal.

“I have too many moving parts, too many different lineups. I’ve coached them poorly,” Fox said.

Maybe High Point is a very good defensive team. We certainly aren't at this point.

According to KenPom's stats, High Point is slightly above average at 128th in defensive efficiency. They're 287th in 2PT defense, but 50th in generating turnovers.

Our numbers are better across the board, FWIW, and I don't think it's much given how inconsistent we've been on that side of the floor.

Need to bring the A-effort.
