Transfer Portal… Boomerang SHU recruits???

2nd time a charm

Baye Fall

Fall is an interesting one....opportunity to platoon with EHE. He didn't do much last year as most freshman don't but can he grow enough as a soph to contribute and grow into a #1 center? The problem with the 4/5 next year is that very little experience after EHE (Fall, Godswill, Ozdagon).

Who did we take (or were gonna take) in the hope it helped us with Fall?

Fall feels like the kind of kid who will end up at four different schools before his career is over

Arkansas gave minutes to anyone with a pulse this year. Muss even burned Keyon Menifields redshirt halfway through the season despite having a million guards. If Baye Fall couldn’t crack that rotation, it’s pretty safe to assume he sucks at the game of basketball.

We definitely took him. His name was Abdou Ndiaye and he was on last season's roster. It was reported on here that he was a cousin of either Fall or Diop or both. Pardon my cynicism, but it would appear that he was being used as bait to lure 1 or 2 actual basketball players. He was either injured all season or so bad that he never smelled the court.

I think Sanogo has a year left... ;)

Baye Fall feels like Sada NgaNga 2.0. Insane frame and raw athlete with no basketball skill who was a highly sought after HS recruit
I get the comparison but think it's apples to oranges. Fall graduated as a McDonald's All-American. Nganga was briefly a 5-star as a HS freshman, then quickly fell down rankings after multiple injuries.

I wonder if Nganga will be here next year - but I won't bother to even form an opinion. Shaheen has consistently shown how great of a coach he is so I'll blindly trust all decisions he makes.

Any chance we get involved with these formerly recruited players who might want to come home?

Not sure if 2 or 3 of these would fit in our NIL Budget

Tobe Awaka (Tennessee)
A Bradshaw (Kentucky)
Otega Oweh (Oklahoma)
Sean Durugordon (Siena)
Rafael Castro (Providence)

While I would love to see him on the team, if Bradshaw ends up at SHU, then he's the official athlete of CrowdStrike

Marcus Watson back in the portal for the 5th time after choosing Towson over seton hall last summer

It would be a boost to the SH fan base if the staff could land a quality player that says we’re still a factor in the recruiting wars this early in the off season.

Believe he missed the entire year with a knee injury which was exposed as soon as he got to Towson. Makes you wonder when that injury actually occurred and if it was a reason that SH and he decided to part ways.
I thought that injury was in Towson’s first scrimmage or practice. At least that’s how it was reported.

But who knows

This talk of Watson had me thinking about Chance Westry, who it seemed like we were briefly linked to last off-season. Apparently he reinjured his knee before the season began and never played a minute for Syracuse this year. Sounds like they're expecting big things from him when he returns. Possibly another injury bullet dodged.

Yes, very rare you can go a whole season with your starters only missing 3 games.

Also illustrates how tricky it can be when taking transfers. You'll have guys who will hide or downplay injuries and it isn't like pro free agency where you can get a full medical history and physical on a player. You can watch him play pick up or go through a workout but it's not the same.

Yes, I see great videos of Jaquan Harris on X and he has not played a game in years.

Looks like he is still on the roster for next year. I guess he's a practice player but can he even practice?

That’s why it’s critical to have the top medical specialists doing the examination in order to make an informed decision .

It is called the "Yetna"

If I remember correctly, Sha was involved with Fland early in his recruitment, no? I believe we fell out because a) we lacked the "NIL" resources of Kentucky, and b) we're not Kentucky.

If not for the poster and the liker I would discount this list. I am a small bit intrigued.
