Trump removing committee called the Cyber Security Review Board which per their website reviews all recent cyber attacks and provides recommendations how to mitigate future attacks.

someone please make sense of this one because cyber security imo is one of the top 1% issues for me. is it just because it was a biden measure? are the people not doing much work?

It’s an Advisory Board, not the people who do the actual work. Have no idea who was on it and any value they provided.

me? no. im wondering if this is concerning or not. face value sounds concerning but usually you cant take anything face value in politics
This is not concerning. The Biden executive order was a "hey we're doing something about cybersecurity" feel good moment. The Trump executive order disbanding the board is a "hey here's another thing I am doing to stick it it Biden" feel good moment.

If the people on the board are any good, they will be scooped up and put to use somewhere else.

Shades of the past. Hope things don't go sideways again.

But it goes both ways. Trump assembled Operation Warp Speed during the pandemic which was essential to getting things done and quickly, only for Biden to shut it down prematurely.

great but i only care about moving forward not maintaining an old man cat fight.

Me too; but so far the Trump retaliation tour has been about stripping out things that don’t pose a risk. This advisory board seems to fit that.

In addition the mad rush to invest in AI is mostly about national (and even world security).

why do you say it seems to pose no risk? if there's any place to have an extra layer of eyes, i would want it on cyber security. seems like they got bunched into a larger effort. and no i dont think trump looks more than half a paragraph into any measure hes deleting.

That’s my opinion based on experience.
