To date - IMO

1. Nova
2. Xavier
3. Butler
4. Georgetown

5. Providence
6. Seton Hall

7. Marquette
8. Creighton
9. DePaul
10. St John's

This is how I'd put it, 2-4 are pretty interchangeable to me right now:

Nova (high seed NCAA team)
Georgetown (mid seed NCAA team)
Xavier (mid seed NCAA team)
Butler (mid seed NCAA team)

PC (solid NIT/NCAA bubble)

SHU (NIT)
Creighton (no postseason)
Marquette (no postseason, but lots of room to grow)
Depaul (no postseason)

St John's. (hopeless)

i really want to move SHU up and show some separation but from the group of dregs below us, but I think past history is the only thing preventing me from doing so. A win Saturday over a decent team would help.

I think GU is 2nd best or better. But that is the grouping for the league that I expect.

My rankings are to date not where I think teams will finish. Hard to have 1-3 Georgetown with a loss to Radford at the top right now.

Here's how I see it:

2. Georgetown
3. Xavier
4. Butler

5. Providence
6. Seton Hall

7. Creighton
8. Marquette

Slightly different, but too early to tell about bottom half:

1. The Nova
2. Georgetown
3. Xavier
4. Butler

5. Providence

6. Seton Hall
7. Creighton
8. Marquette

9. DePaul
10. St John's

Steve, is this a prediction going forward or play to date? Because IMO not sure how anyone can have 1-3 Georgetown with a loss at home to Radford ahead of Xavier as of today.

Play to date. Radford loss hurts, looks like an obvious look-ahead situation, but they've played super against an insane schedule that no one else in conference can even dream about.

Here's how I see it: Nova is just in a league by itself right now. The Mullins are really going to ride down underneath the water level this year.

1. Nova

2. Georgetown
3. Xavier
4. Providence
5. Butler

6. Seton Hall
7. Creighton
8. Marquette
9. DePaul

I am basing it on what I have seen. I have no doubt they are very good.

We should finish no worse than 7th because Creighton, DePaul and St. Johns are trash. Our goal should be Top 5, which should be good enough to be borderline tournament. Can we beat Providence, Xavier or Marquette? My guess is no based on Willard's track record.

Even with a home loss to Radford, Gtown gets the nod because of that extremely difficult schedule. If we're going based on to date, how can you have SH ahead of Creighton? SH lost to long Beach St on a neutral court where Creighton lost to Indiana on the road

I agree Dick. But it's only week two and at this point taking into consideration all their games Georgetown is not having the best or second best Big East season.

Keep playing as they have been in their last three games and they'll be giving Nova a run for their money.

Should be little disagreement what teams make up the top 4 or the teams that make up the bottom half of the conference.

1. Nova
2.Georgetown
3. Xavier
4.Butler

5. PC

6. Marquette
7.Creighton
8. SH
9. DePaul
10. SJU

Creighton is not "trash." Far from it. Probably better than Seton Hall.

We are not better than Marquette. They have a much harder schedule so far than the Hall. They have really good talent (very young) but would take Wojo as a basketball coach any day. Guy shows fire out there on the sidelines something this basketball program can use.

With % chance of dancing

Protected seeds:
1. Nova (95%)
2. Xavier (94.5%)

Tourney teams:
3. Butler (85%)
4. Providence (70%)
5. Georgetown (68.3%)

Bubble team:
6. Seton Hall (45%, but up to 48% with a win v UGA, down to 40% with a loss)

Playing respectable:
7. Creighton (18%)
7T. Marquette (18%)

Rebuilding:
9. Johnnies (2%)

Terrible:
10. Depaul (0%)

I don't think the gap between nova and xavier is all that great. Those two are clearly the top in my opinion. I could also see butler or georgetown finishing ahead of either nova or xavier. Providence's lack of depth makes me think they will finish in the 3-5 range, but not challenge for the top. Seton Hall could really use a win against Georgia to remain a legitimate bubble team.

This year is a little different from last year where 8 teams cracked the rankings and it was more of a crap shoot. The are 6 teams with a shot at dancing, I think that's pretty clear.

And big shout out to fox sports for bringing me so many of these games into my living room. I don't think I have ever been able to follow the conference so closely. And even though I miss cuse and uconn, the ten team format is real nice as you can follow all ten teams more closely
