UCONN hanging tough

I really do not understand the McNeeley hype. He's not a good shooter and makes a ton of mistakes. Typical freshman.

Stinks. He killed them down the stretch. And don’t get the Karaban love either.

Clayton went from low and mid major interest and 23 maac poy to not only an ap all american but a straight clutch shot maker

McNeeley has killed them with being a soft rebounder in the final minutes too.

I think one looks at uconn and it is hard to replace the components they had the prior two seasons. AP voters were mega wrong on them and kansas preseason

Yeah they were a good team not great ultimately, too much to replenish. They were an 8-seed for good reason.

Too much talent for them to handle on Florida. Shows you what a great coach Danny is that UConn led most of the 2nd half. Couple squeezed rebounds and they would be in the sweet 16.

Valiant effort by Uconn, but I had a feeling Florida would eventually pull it out, which happened. 9-19 from behind the arc. Despite the awful foul shooting which kept Uconn in the game. Clayton is a winning player and stud.

Dan is one of us. That is a big deal to me. and i find him likable and his story very admirable. so under his leadership i see uconn in a new light. uconn fans have earned a bad rap. never been a fan of sj fans either. hated how they booed lokar. rp not easy to take or the nyc media lovefest for him. but i rooted like crazy for them to succeed this yr in the ncaas. if you are in the ncaas and from the BE, i root for you if you arent playing shu. no exceptions.

He just needs a better harness at times...like from the court to the lockerroom postgame cant be open about thinking the ref crew f*ucked your team

Clayton, an unknown two star who spent a few years with Slick Rick at Iona and parlayed that into Florida and being an all American.

Pitino’s last team at Iona that lost to UConn in the first round had two kids in the backcourt no one recruited - Clayton and Daniss Jenkins - who both turned into really good high major players and fringe NBA players or more.

Only fell 25 short of matching Wooden.
Uninformed comment. Two completely different eras. And Wooden didn’t have to play six rounds to get a championship and he never played a Midwest or east coast team until the FF. The early rounds were regional. There was absolutely no competition for UCLA in the west region. It was as a cake walk to the FF.

He also had NIL in the form of Sam Gilbert and I don’t think it was nearly as widespread back then across the high majors as it was in the 80s/90s forward. Still a great coach though obviously.

Anyone see the clip going viral now about Hurley going off on tbe refs and saying to Baylor in the tunnel that “I hope the refs don’t F you like they F us”. Certainly wears his emotions on his sleeves. I was pulling for Uconn and wagered them to cover but personally I didn’t think the whistle was that bad.

Wait, players were paid before NIL? Wow I thought Sha was the first coach to have to compete for players with schools who were paying players more than we could. Major news.

i can do without the curses too

But my favorite coach of all time said a curseword once in a while on the sidelines. Make that once every minute. with a priest or two on the bench
