Everyone hating on Willard, hating on funding, processes etc. just have to stop and accept who we are.

over a decade ago, Pitino and others referenced that the Seton Hall job is a tough one based on resources and the school. Most of us took issue with that but they are correct

We are who we are and that is a mid major operation in a Power conference
Look at history
Coaches have always been an up and coming or a retread
Facilities have been so dated . New facilities are 10 years to late
Shoe string budget. SHa is in the lower bracket of BE and we don’t have a full set of asst coaches and those are paid on lower side
Lacking creativity for future…. Ie GM role
Lack of fundraising etc

All that said, we should be proud of what we accomplished. Going to be harder in the NIL world but it can be done. Create our team brand, recruit to that, recruit tri state area players etc

A lot of defeatism in your post. History is marred with tons of people and orgs who solved complex problems and found success. What did they have in common? They all believed.

Seton Hall has a large gap to fill, it will take some bright and creative minds to bring the basketball program consistent success. It can be done.

I think the poster was saying that SHU has overcome many challenges to find a way to be competitive. PJ obviously overcame a lot as did Willard ( not comparing PJ and Willard). But the entire landscape has changed. Can SHU find a way to regain competitiveness again?

Everything you said is true except for the last sentence.

It will be nearly impossible to build a brand and Recruiting doesn’t exist anymore nor is it logical to do so.

Usually happens after leadership change , we have the same people in charge and a new president with one foot out the door.
