Hey look, we know what this team is but I’ll take the win. Glad to see them fight back.
Coleman is our next star. Surround this guy.

And he wasn't even 100%.Hey look, we know what this team is but I’ll take the win. Glad to see them fight back.

Happy we won, of course, and thought we would. I’ve been in the camp that we will get a few W’s at home.Hey look, we know what this team is but I’ll take the win. Glad to see them fight back.

Coleman needs to learn how to dribble before being a star, but he's easily the best player by FAR.Happy we won, of course, and thought we would. I’ve been in the camp that we will get a few W’s at home.
Obviously Coleman has been good and was helped big time by two of the whipping boys tonight in DAW (best game as a Pirate) and Prince (same).
But I can be happy and pump the breaks on the Coleman is a “star” thing. He’s made great strides no doubt. But the Baby Jokic, Mamu Jr, Jenkins is our star etc stuff is what ultimately leads to unrealistic expectations.
Weird game when two starters , Tubek only saw 7 minutes of action , no shots, no points and Godswill got 6. minutes no shots and no points. Sha does keep you guessing doesn’t he but I’ll take a win any day any way.Hey look, we know what this team is but I’ll take the win. Glad to see them fight back.

He’ll be fine. He’s got the skills and he’s finding himself now on a team with nothing around him and is emerging as a guy who carries a team on one of the worst offensive units in the country.Coleman needs to learn how to dribble before being a star, but he's easily the best player by FAR.
He was always the obvious one to keep after the two who left. I think there was uniform agreement on the boards about that, which you never see. He’ll be fine. He’s got the skills and he’s finding himself now on a team with nothing around him and is emerging as a guy who carries a team on one of the worst offensive units in the country.
His efficiency as a sophomore in that context is impressive. He has a 115.4 o-rating in 15 games on this freaking team. I mean in BE games early he’s 14th best and 5th best in OR%. Now he’s pairing that with go-to element And watch him play. He’s got the skills already. You can see why he was such a priority for Sha last offseason. This guy is legit. He’ll be All-BE somewhere.
Another good sign is that he’s played better against the more difficult opponents. 121.7 ORTG in conference and 118 ORTG against tier A opponents. Looks like Rhoden 2.0 to me. Start the fundraising now. He’ll be fine. He’s got the skills and he’s finding himself now on a team with nothing around him and is emerging as a guy who carries a team on one of the worst offensive units in the country.

that is true, hes being double covered a lot. depaul was trying to deny him the entire end of game. and hit ends up hitting the tying shot. thats big time. He’ll be fine. Yup. It looked somewhat similar to what he wanted to run against Georgetown, except a screen from Prince was incorporated to get it back a second time to Coleman.Nice play drawn up by Shaheen too. I had my doubts when I saw Dylan dribbling it up. Some real braindead defending by DePaul down the stretch.
Not remotely. We beat DePaul, not UConnUghhh finally I feel like a lot of weight is off the shoulders of the team and fans
Hah I wasn’t sure if we would win a Big East game !Not remotely. We beat DePaul, not UConn
UCONN and St. John's will be our two other Big East home court wins! They are cursed when it comes to Newark. I think Calhoun and Louie, god rest his soul, must have a few bodies buried under the Rock.Plus we beat Uconn on our court every year, no big deal.
You will have to search long and hard to find a kid more effective guarding the inbounds passer then doubling the guy in the corner than Scotty Middleton. The full court press is just so key for this group. We are not a good half court team.
I say go small, play fast. Speed other teams up and play the helter-skelter game.
Let's aim higher. 7th dammit we need to finish 7th! lolIF we can someone finish 9th, it would be an accomplishment. This was an important win if we are able to get there.
lol. Don’t disrespect Brian Laing and even include him in that sentence. That was the best Dylan we’ve seen all year. He’s been brutal up until this point.
DePaul is horrible defensively. They’ve given up 80+ points every big east game
this was the first game where Prince was given an opportunity to get into the flow of the game with a defined roll. That impacts a players performance. He played great. Gave me flashes of a really bad Brian Laing
Actually down 11 with 4:12 to go.I was glad to see the team still has their internal fight. They could have rolled over down nine with four minutes left.
Never disrespect to BL. Just the wing playing center comp!lol. Don’t disrespect Brian Laing and even include him in that sentence.
I think what you are seeing with DePaul is the other side of the coin in terms of roster construction.
They have put together a less athletic team that is reliant on ball movement and shooting the 3. They can score the ball and were very competitive in their OOC schedule even though it was very weak. But no quad 4 losses to complain about. And probably much easier on the eyes from a fans perspective.
However, If they have an off night shooting (7-27) they get run out of the gym by 44 by the likes of Villanova the other day.
The color commentator, Nick Bahe, made an early observation that DePaul just isn’t as athletic of a team compared to even Seton Hall. So I believe Aligbe had the right matchup to get to the rim and be successful like he was against NJIT (19 and 8 on 9/12 fgs). Unfortunately he is a less skilled and undersized 4 against most other high D1 teams. Better suited as an energy guy off the bench while knowing when and when not to shoot.
Ah ok….but I thought that was the Larry Davis joke?Never disrespect to BL. Just the wing playing center comp!
