I think we have at least a 1 in 3 shot.

Probably, almost 50 percent.

Key will be beating Gtown, providence, and Xavier at home. Even losing the season series to Xavier will be ok, if we do not have any further bad losses and if we can get a win in the BET.

This season can still turn out real well.
We need our thin back court to remain healthy and not fatigued.

Lunardi had us as the 1st team out today. Have to beat X at home for a real signature win. Can't lose to St John's, Depaul, or Marquette. Probably have to win 1 in the garden to be safe.

hard to say our chances. Based on what? Poster optimism?

If we are going by chance based on Willard's record, very low. February is only a week away and we know how he's done in the past.

Slim and none and it looks like Slim might be getting ready to leave the building. But, there's always hope. Wonder what SH's odds were last year at this time? Sports books would have cleaned up.

I ' m counting my chickens before they hatch . 4 wins ,St Johns, DePaul , St Johns again ,Marquette .

We play both Butler and Georgetown twice , Xavier at home , Providence at home ,Creighton away .In the 7 games ? Win at least 3 or 4 of the 7 .

My take still . Xavier and Villanova are in . Providence ,Butler , Georgetown ,Seton Hall .Creighton ? Some on this site believe that Providence , Georgetown , Butler are in . If BE followers think those 5 teams are NCAA bound ,I don't because the way the BE teams always seem to play games down to the wire with games being decided in the last minutes , you can't predict anything .

We just have to win games and the opportunities are there . Remember how well we started out last season beating Villanova and others with everyone thinking we were in and then every thing went downhill . This year I hope we can end the last half of the regular season with some big wins . And be NCAA bound .

Have to be optimistic, there are 11 BE games plus the BE tournament . One game at a time . There are no teams that we can't beat .

My guess is that the Big East Tournament will dictate our Dancing or settling for the NIT.

This team is much better than last season. There won't be an easy night from here on out, but I think we'll definitely win 6 of final 11, maybe 7. If we get 7 were in, 6 were needing a game at MSG.

The loss to Nova really hurt us.

Nova 0-2
Xavier 0-2
Creighton 0-2

PC 1-1
Butler 1-1
Georgetown 1-1

Marquette 2-0
DePaul 2-0
Sju 2-0

I think this is what I expect the rest of the way, and at 9-9 we would need at least a couple wins in the BET. I'd think that is most likely.

If we can beat Xavier at home or find a way to take 2 against PC, Georgetown or butler with no letdowns then we have decent chance. Gotta get to 10 BE wins to be in the conversation. 11 and were in.

I agree with Merge. More or less.

But we need to either beat Prov twice or split with CU.

Then we should be dancing.

Based on our body of work so far, it's doubtful. Still way too inconsistent. Lets hope we turn the corner quickly.

Our team is better. But except for DeP and Johnnies so is everybody else.
I completely agree - St. John's beat Syracuse early on. This team can win six more games, but that mean's fixing some issues that are getting exposed. Mack kept harping on our lack of depth. We're getting no offense from our bigs and our half court offense needs help. We stand around and watch Whitehead dribble an awful lot.

The thought of a NIT appearance sends chills up and down my spine. That would just prolong the agony. "If" SH doesn't have what it takes to cha cha into the big dance before the BEbTourney, it certainly won't be able to waltz it's way in without a miracle involving Mother Seton.

Are we just discounting February and the brain fart that our team and Willard seem to have when it arrives?

Of course. This is a new time for kumbaya and fundamentally transforming this team and board. Where have I heard that before? Oops, wrong board.

I can see that too, and wouldn't (right now) feel great about that. Other wise , to answer the OP's question, I think we've got about a 30 percent chance right now. Not great, but a ridiculous long shot, either.

The bubble will be awfully soft as usual this year. Not many bids coming from the A10, AAC, SEC & Mountain West. The Big East & PAC 12 should reap the rewards, esp. as long as teams like Wichita State, Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Monmouth & Valpo do what they're supposed to do in the conference tourney.

9-9 will get us in barring too many shake ups in early March. Would be nice to not be in the bubble though and get a better seed, but beggars can't be choosers and Willard has clearly made us a beggar as usual.

just get in the tournament i dont care if were a play in game or the worst possible seed. just get in.

Don't see us getting in this year. Next year is our year.

For what it's worth (and on Jan 25, not much), Lunardi has us as the 3rd team out this morning. Jerry Palm has us fairly safely in at the 10 slot.

This team has enough talent to win 7-8 more games including BET and dance. Williard is the key. Will be a disappointment if they do not make it. Fan base has waited long enough. Tournament this year and sweet 16 next should be goal if everyone returns.

Everyone isn't returning. Even if he's it, Gordon is gone, and he's a huge loss, well beyond the numbers.
