We left Storrs on February 6th looking sharp. We were 8-5 in the BE and playing really crisp team basketball, including an excellent response after the collapse against Creighton a few games prior.
Then we had a week off and never recovered. Instantly lost all mojo against the bottom of the league. The numbers fell off a cliff, the team looked like a shell of itself in approach. No bounce, no assertiveness. We should be 0-5 since; we got bailed out by the awfulness of Marquette and DePaul.
Teams slump, but this is more than that IMO.
It cannot be just defenses packing it in or game planning, that’s gone on all year. There are plenty of plays to be made, they’re just not. The team has looked spooked for a month. Bizarre to have this kind of collapse with such an experienced group. Any thoughts?
