yeah I know premature at this point and likely Willard stays put. But let’s say we finish strong and his stock is back at 52 week high and Maryland can’t resist. I would guess these would be the names:
The Obvious:
Shaheen (sentimental favorite, but not sure he can go toe to toe with the likes of Wright, McDermott, et al.)
Billmeier (great guy, but much better suited as lead Assistant/Big Man specialist)
Adrian Griffin (although he shouldn’t get a sniff since none of his sons looked our way)
Kevin Boyle (out of the box experiment)
The brand names who might be possible:
Hurley Jr. (assuming he’s out at ASU, would be a good rebound situation for him)
Richard Pitino (might not be the worst fit)
Archie Miller (assuming he’s cleaner than his brother, might be attracted to small school)
James Jones (may want a shot at major job after doing nice job turning Yale into Ivy power)
Johnny Dawkins (although probably tough to leave a job in Florida)
I’d say the current Iona coach, but don’t think we’d have the balls
