Such a shame we still have this guy representing our school. The Seton Hall magazine just published him on the cover with the headline "A Man for Others". I think it will be hard to get donors bigger that are already reluctant, especially after this. And I don't care if the story about him is not completely true, It's bad business and a horrible example for young people.

..............a Seton Hall spokesperson wrote in an email to Inside Higher Ed. “The Board of Regents remains unequivocal in its support of Monsignor Reilly and firmly believes in his ability and vision to enhance Seton Hall’s standing as one of the nation’s foremost Catholic universities.”

What’s next a contract extension for Sha . I just can’t help but wonder how one school can screw up so many times on key issues like finding the right person to head the university and take it forward .

One corrupt entity protecting another. And we're all held hostage by it.

"A Man for Others," indeed.

And this whole sordid Reilly fiasco doesn't exactly burnish the BOR's credibility when it comes to Nyre, either. There is a lot of "he said, she said" there, but this doesn't help the university come out of this looking any better, that's for sure.

No crimes. Violation of university policies.
Thx. Yeah I was thinking I probably used the wrong term there..... but it seems that he has been found guilty at least in the eyes of many. I'll have to do more checking into what happened.

The controversy over Seton Hall not making public the results of an investigation conducted by an outside firm will always hang over its head and create the impression that they are hiding something and the allegations have merit. Make the damn report public and move on to building a university we can take pride in with people in key positions who can pass any scrutiny.

They can't. It would show that they removed him from overseeing a very small part of the university that is more of a hindrance being on campus than a help to then put him in charge of everything. How could you possibly release that and explain it away?

About 6-7 years ago, Seton Hall really seemed to be in a good spot on an upward trajectory. It seemed we were making great progress on a lot of fronts and one could be proud of their school. Since then we have had multiple scandals, lawsuits, coverups and failures of leadership that just keep coming. Where are our leaders? When does someone take accountability for everything and say enough - no more!

Just getting caught up on this. I read the account in pillarcatholic.com. Agree that transparency is needed. What a mess.

The one common denominator is all of this is the BOR. They need to go and they need to reorganize. Get rid of the good old boys network. We have a very small handful of old guys running things. We need to shake things up.
