Where's Desi?

Willard said "he said some things my players don't say" after coming out in 1st half. Also said not sure if he'll play Wed.

I give credit to the coach for not tolerating disrespect. I just can't believe we are seeing player discipline problems again.

first off...all I stated was why speculate on being in the doghouse before you know? Now you know. Credit to willard for doing the right thing.

Secondly, the smug comments are tiresome overall on this board. You can group me where ever you think . I really could care less, because you really have no idea and that's fine.

speculation? I think it was pretty obvious desi was in the dog house.

I'm disappointed in desi. He is one of the leaders of this team. Can't be doing that.

He was the last man on the bench and not one coach looked at him all half.

It was obvious what was happening.

So - all of us speculators have no idea so we shouldn't speculate. But YOU really have an idea what it's about. So YOU would have known all along. And then to castigate people for wondering what's up, you go and lay in on people who just want to understand.

I don't have to smug. Neither do others. If you really know what the problem is, you'd do yourself a big favor by just being quiet about it. Now you show yourself pretty poorly.

Frankly - you can see that everyone, once understanding the situation, is backing the coach - as well we should and as he deserves.

So - no message board problem right there - unless you want to make it that way.

Wonder if Desi was still upset from Marquette game when he did not get back in after foul trouble and three guard offense was clicking.

If that's the case, Desi needs to grow up. It's not about him, it's about what's working well. He averages 25 MPG and contributed nicely in the first half against Marquette.

Desi has been a problem all year with his mouth and he has been protected... I guess Willard has had it finally. We cannot have the players running wild which leads to bad chemistry!!! Good for Willard!!!
If what you say is true why wasn't the problem with Desi addressed before now. One of the principles of imposing discipline is that you address it quickly and decisively and not let it grow. If we have a new version of Willard controlling the locker room why was Desi "protected" ?

Sal I'm using your post that said that Desi has been a problem all year and that he's been protected which led to my comments.

I think as fans we need to avoid over-analyzing the dynamics of a particular disciplinary problem. We just don't know enough about the situation. But time will tell if this is another dumpster fire.

There are lots of ways to handle discipline. Ideally, you don't go to the hammer on a first offense, but you use it if it's necessary. Similarly, I'd bet a coach's first preference is to avoid publicly disciplining and calling out a player. It just reached that level with Desi. I would imagine it was being addressed in other ways.

I think this makes sense.
