SHU handled Marquette earlier in the season with no problem. That result was a surprise. Now with SHU playing possibly their best ball of the season you would expect another easy victory. I'm not so sure.

Marquette has won 3 in a row albeit against weaker competition. They do have the best freshmen in the conference in Ellenson along with fellow twin tower Fischer. And they shoot foul shots at a high clip. So maybe the game is closer than many think it will be.

I'll go....

SHU 74

Marquette 70

We have done a good job adjusting our game plan after losing to a few teams this year but we haven't seen how we handle a team that we beat the first time who is adjusting to us. Gonna be interesting.

I'll say a close W. 78-75

Marquette will try to get our forwards in foul trouble early ( and I'm sure we will try the same with them). Ellenson has been playing very well lately, so I'm sure him and Fischer will be a lot to contend with. But as long as Ish and Angel stay out of foul trouble , I think we will win

SHU 68
Marquette 64

Marquette is dangerous.

We are capable of beating every team on our remaining schedule, but every team on our schedule is also capable of beating us.

I picked SHU but I'm wary on this one...pirates by 5. Another revenge game tomorrow, but we are the hunted.

Marquette is a great matchup for us and our guards +Desi will be able to get to the basket at will just like last game. Expect a whole lot of weave up top followed by the ball screen allowing our guards to penetrate to the basket. I think we win this game by 15 even if Ellenson has a great night.

77-62 SHU

The game will come down to defense and rebounding and playing tough in the paint one more time. Get them in foul trouble. That's how we've been winning and I think we'll do it again. Hall by 7

I am very concerned about this game. Hopefully we have a great crowd which helps the team. I have SHU 72-65.

Marquette was my surprise team this year and it will be a very close game and the Pirates need to make a much higher percentage of FT's to win.
SH - 71
MR - 70

MU does a horrible job covering the "pick and roll/ball screen" up top... Butler killed them with it.

But MU also killed Butler with the same "pick and roll/ball screen" up top.

Hopefully our Offense matches up well with both of these teams in the 3 games with them and we go atleast 2-1.

If this team is for real, if we've really "turned the corner", than we'll see 100% effort from the opening tip. No one is guaranteed a bid at this point, so this team better be hungry! SHU by 10 if we come out strong in the first 5 minutes. We get romped if we don't come out strong.

SHU 77
Marq 65

Ish slows down Ellenson, and SHU wins the turnover and rebounding battles.

Oh this would be bad if there's a slip up. Very bad.

SHU, 70-63.

See, playing meaningful games for a change late in the season is making everyone nervous. That's good. It means the games are very important as they should be in February.

This is the kind of game Seton Hall has not responded well to in the Willard era. Now with this squad let's see if things are different.

Expect Marquette to play hard and give us everything they have. If we're as good as we think we are we'll respond with a win. We're the better team.

Time to show it under pressure.

Revenge game? Just show our guys the BET game last yr, when Marq and their coach got off on humiliating Seton Hall with a full scale celebration at the Garden. I haven't forgotten that debacle; hopefully our staff, and our guys, haven't forgotten it, either

Think we match up really well with Marquette. Their guard play is not good. Closer game than we expect but

The spread is SHU giving 8. I think that sounds about right. I see us leading by 12 or so for much of the second half then giving a few back towards the end. 77-68. Let's go HALL.

8 is a lot oTo anyone in this league except maybe St. John's and De Paul when they are not at home. At home I don't give anyone more than 5 despite what we did to Creighton. 76 - 73.

Get their two bigs in foul trouble and keep them under 28 point total! We did it last time and we need to replicate that again (28 points total).

this game makes me nervous. I'll go with the pack though; SHU 78 Marquette 73

We can only lose this game a couple of ways assuming we bring energy:

1. They have a hot shooting night and don't miss
2. Both Angel and Ish get into foul trouble. I think we can survive without one of them but both would be tough to take.

If I bet I would put something significant on SHU at -7 unless there is something we don't know.

This is a strange place for us. One of the few times I can remember where most of our posters are
predicting a win, but not too many are over confident. Usually, this has been the place where it goes
South and there is a no-show or some type of team turmoil or distraction. I'm not sensing that right now.

Hall by 4 tonight 73-69.

SHU is 8-2 in their last 10 games against the spread while Marquette is 3-7

That tells me Marquette is due for a cover and SH is due for a loss against the spread.

I think tonight will be a little too close for comfort. We match up well with them, but I think Wojo will break out the zone to make it very difficult for our offense. I say we win by 4 or 5. Something like 68-64.

Agreed, this will probably be too close for comfort but if the team has indeed turned a corner this year then we will get a W.

This will be a signature win for us and show that we have "turned the corner"-LOL! Marquette's guards are not the teams strong -point; Carrington and Whitehead will dominate. Our front line players have a tough assignment however, Sanogo will be the key, along with Delgado, Rodriguiz, etc. We lead in offensive rebounds (Sanogo 3.2 p/game) and that is key tonight against a big front line.

A strong defense and Willard again draws up a good game plan and we move-up in the BE Standings! . SHU 74-Marquette 66

Yes! Guards played great, front line came through big-time, rebounds, etc. Willard's game plan and he is pushing all the right buttons. I honestly felt that the outcome tonight was never in doubt, throughout the game, even at halftime.

Now 7 with 97% of the money on Marquette.

But look at this

SHU is 8-2 in their last 10 games against the spread while Marquette is 3-7

SHU is now actually 10-2 in their last 12 games against the spread. Eventuality they'll earn more respect and the betting line will be affected.
