Hollaway doesn't like Miller, and is 0-3 against him. The team was awful on Sunday. I expect a really good effort and bounce back win......SHU 75-69

I think a loss here will be huge indicator that we are out of big dance and I am hoping team realizes this is a must win.SHU by 2 .
This team has risen from the dead before.
The problem with this matchup is that Xavier has outside shooters, such as Olivari, and we just don't defend well from three. We still keep getting burned by overcovering on dribble penetration.
Ousman (sp?) had the upper hand on our bigs last time out.
Can we defend as we did against Uconn and Marquette, earlier in the season. Can we stop turning the ball over?
We played at such a high level offensively against Creighton. Can we do so tonight?
I believe we are going to pull this one out but we need to play defense like we have never played before and take care of the ball. We have to win or at least be even on the boards too.

Either they will show another stinker or they will get hot and blow the pants off X. The big question is which way will it go. Not really looking good for some time now I am expecting and hoping for a big turnaround.

Miller has gotten the best of Sha all 3 games and they destroyed us by 20 in the last 2. Their style of play, especially defensively, is not a good match-up for us. They play good man D and use traps and timed double-teams. They can be exposed by good passing teams who space the floor well - that is not us.
We need Richmond to re-discover the passion he showed last month. Get back to using the jump-stop in the paint to gather himself, fake and pivot rather than just throw the ball up at the rim hoping for a foul call. Play some defense. Show some fire, act like you want to be there.
This whole team has shown no energy the last 3 weeks. Basketball should be fun. Show some positive emotion. Play together, pick up your teammates.
On defense, stop the overhelping and make it a priority to not allow any open 3s. I'd rather an uncontested layup than an open 3. Don't allow shooters to get confident because then it's over.

I believe there will be extra energy in the building which our guys feed off. Doesn't matter if there are 8000 or 9000. I do agree that Khadary has to play with passion and a bit pissed off. They all do. Should any Pirate get into the 20's that increases the chances significantly. Olivari, Claude and McKnight are their 3 big guns. Focus on shutting one down completely. Dawes and Addae-Wusu need point production. Doesn't have to be three ball shots. These same Hall players beat the Number 1 and Number 4 team in the NATION in this arena!! I'd like to believe UConn and Marquette are as good as Xavier??

Hoping the Nova game was a wakeup call, we looked strangely like the team we saw in December. Hard work wins games not forcing 3 point shots. I would be shocked if we don't see a different team Wednesday night, come on these guys are seniors they know what's at stake. Tired is a losers mentality, we need to beat this X team down the court, rebound and play defense. Hopeful this game looks a lot like when we beat St. Johns 77-65.
Even if we lose we are still 8-6 in big east, many here had us winning only 6-8 all season, I do agree this game is very important, we are home, and have a good opponent, but I dont think its end all be all time yet... If we go 12-8 I do not see us missing, 11-9 well pray on Sunday.. Either way were better now than many imagined so enjoy being here and in this conversation and lets go Pirates...
Should be slight dogs based on the efficiency metrics, so I'm pleasantly surprised.

Home dog, Sha is going to have a field day. I expect us to be fired up, if I was a betting man I would put down a hundred on us this game. Our fan base is pre conditioned to lose these games. I expect our coach will blow a gasket tonight if we play like Sunday. If we get off to a bad start I expect him to pull the whole team off the floor. Our coach does not like losing, not in his vocabulary. We will win this game.

I agree wholeheartedly, but I'm not as optimistic as you, Halldan. I looked at our three games Sunday-to-Sunday and thought we had to win two, with Villanova being the most likely, Then........
