One positive I see is that with this trend of departures; the adults are winning: Kelly, Mattis, McMaster, Tillerson...I'd be very worried if one or two of them bailed.Maybe Kelly said it's him or me? You could see how unhappy he was when Trump went off script.

Assuming he was not properly briefed (and someone's head should/will roll for that)
Down the road Nikki Haley may well become our first female President. Here is a somewhat reasonable article. You do have to hope the adults stay in the administration. This article forgets to mention Niki Haley's good work in getting China to add sanctions to North Korea. I wish she ran for President.

Worried but it also depends on their replacements.
The adults have been losing for the past 20 years… So have the kids.Fair, but it seems the adults are losing.
The message to whoever replaces them - Do whatever the president wants or you're out .
Not good.
Agree Tom. That’s not happening. The big question is where do we go in 2020? I highly doubt Trump will run for reelection. Do we learn as a country and identify better candidates or are we left with the awful choices we had in 2016? I’m not optimistic.Though it's not likely the one who should go next is Trump himself. That would not only be good for America but it would also be good for the Republican Party.

Tom, saw this WAPO article on the "Top 15" potential Dem candidates. It's early, but you have to think/hope others will emerge. Some eye-rollers (Booker, Oprah, Cuomo)....why no Tulsi Gabbard..she would be strong/appealing? Still a Kasich fan as well, but I would put Haley in front of him if she runs.Though I more frequently vote Dem, I do not see anyone emerging on the Dem side that inspires. Of the names we usually see on the GOP side the two I'd vote for are John Kaisich or Lindsey Graham.

That is an awful list! On the Dem side I'd seriously consider Tulsi Gabbard and I liked Jim Webb too from the last election. I hope Nikki Haley runs - she'd be my top candidate overall.Tom, saw this WAPO article on the "Top 15" potential Dem candidates. It's early, but you have to think/hope others will emerge. He has to make it through the primary first right? There has to be a few Repubs that will run against him I hope.I believe Trump is going to run and he is going to win. Ask your Republican friends the following question -
"If Trump runs again - will you vote for a Democratic candidate?" Invariably the answer is some variation of "Who is the candidate? or "it depends"
No serious Republican is going to cross the party line just to vote against Trump no matter who the Democratic opponent is.
Doubt there's much value in lists like these except to ad impressions for the publisher. Trump wouldn't have made a top 50 list at the equivalent time for the previous cycle.Tom, saw this WAPO article on the "Top 15" potential Dem candidates. Normally I would agree with you, but you would think Washington Post would have a little bit more credibility.Doubt there's much value in lists like these except to ad impressions for the publisher. Trump wouldn't have made a top 50 list at the equivalent time for the previous cycle.
I do not expect him to be a two term President.
