Who's Next?

You posted the link - not the list. I simply posted the list for convenience purposes. The list is not new information; the NCAA tournament among other things slowed me down and I only got around to it today.

I think the list is fine but you have made clear you do not. Is the order of names unsatisfactory to you or do you believe important names have been left off?
No big deal...just indicated that this was previously posted. Putting Oprah on the list is laughable, especially considering she already said she has no interest. Click bait.
Eric Holder???Please....Where is Tulsi Gabbard? Would also like to see Tim Ryan from Ohio on the list. IF that's the list, I think most would agree that it's pretty weak.

Most is fair as of today. A few names on the list who really shouldn't be on there though. Cuomo, McAuliffe, Holder and Oprah shouldn't be there.
The list will start to look clearer after the 2018 midterms.

I am a Bernie fan, but too many dems that I know are turned off by him - Some more liberal than I am.
Biden is probably a really strong candidate to run against Trump - Though I really do not believe Trump will be on the ticket which makes Biden more of a boring pick.

It's not really an inspiring list. No one jumps out as Obama did heading into 2008.
I'd still give Harris an edge as of today, but that can easily change.

For future discussion, below is the list from the Washington Post which I find quite credible at the present time. It will be interesting to see the list evolve in the coming months.

1. Bernie Sanders
2. Elizabeth Warren
3. Joe Biden
4. Kamala Harris
5. Cory Booker
6. Kirsten Gillibrand
7. Chris Murphy (Connecticut Senator)
8. Terry McAuliffe (Former Virginia Governor)
9. Deval Patrick (Former Massachusetts Governor)
10. Sherrod Brown (NY Giants Running Back)
11. Andrew Cuomo
12. Eric Holder
13. Mitch Landrieu (New Orleans Mayor
14. Oprah Winfrey
15. Steve Bullock (Montana Governor)

Biden would be a good candidate but for his age. Expect Bernie to be back but not as popular. Sherrod Brown is also a classic Democrat with blue collar pedigree. But lacks real national charisma. Watch for Terry McAuliff and Cuomo to be making big push to run. These two have the charisma and party backing. Bullock is interesting but has no national profile at all.

The rest of the list is fluff.

Cuomo would be an awful choice. He's an idiot and has a bunch of skeletons that would be exposed in a Presidential election. Also likely to have an anti-NY feeling after getting Trump/Clinton. There's a lot of time and not having a national profile may be a good thing this time around.

BTW, the two days of Zuckerburg hearings painfully demonstrated we need term limits. What a clueless bunch...and you wonder why nothing gets done.

Hall85 - You are so right. Nobody did their homework for the platform discussion. The only one who asked intelligent questions was the madam senator from CA. Both sides of the aisle were as dumb as they could be especially our own Cory Booker. Ted Cruz was dumb as well.

Just wait till next year when primary talk starts to heat up. I expect that Bernie's appeal will begin to diminish as other rise to take the mantle.

Hall 85, you underestimate Cuomo. I am not a big fan of his, however, I do recognize that he does have certain things going for him including name recognition and his ability to speak. Your refernce to "skeletons" I am assuming are mob ties to his father. I think this was very unfair to his father and especially to Andrew. Judge him on his merits and not some rumor cause he is an Italian from New York.

cern, my opinion of Cuomo is shaped by somebody I know and trust from New York who is very much involved in state politics. He joked with me once and said Mario Cuomo was smart and unscrupulous. Then he said Andrew only has one of those qualities. My references were not to mob connections but rather corruption. He is a decent speaker, but I am not seeing the national appeal. In addition, the way things swing sometimes is that candidate surface that are very different from the last set of candidates. I think the electorate has had it with obnoxious New Yorkers.

Not all elections are decided because one candidate captures the imagination of the electorate. Sometimes elections are decided by the anti vote. 2016 was much more an election decided by the anti Hillary vote rather than a pro Trump vote. In my opinion if the Dems can just come up with a somewhat decent candidate in 2020 he/she will be elected because of the anti Trump voter sentiment.

The best thing that could happen for the GOP would be for someone to knock off Trump in the Republican Primaries.
