The duke kid couldn't have gotten off the court unless he flew.
2 All america players effected by court storming. Hold them back for 20 seconds .

Trespassing is part of the college basketball experience? The only reason this is different than if it happened during the game is because there are several hundred people participating and not one or two.I figured it wouldn't be too long before you chimed in with that exact opinion. We fundamentally disagree. It's part of the college basketball experience.

If it happened during the game, the fan(s) would be hauled off by security, probably arrested and likely banned from the facility for a lengthy period.
I also think blaming the victim here is silly. That's like blaming someone for being caught in a tsunami. Somethings you simply can't outrun.
Personally I think it's a pretty simple concept. The court is for players and the seats are for fans.
Do yiu3 still think it was the duke kids fault cause he didnt get off the court quickly enough after watching the video?
LoflAbsolutely. The rest of his team was over near the bench, ready to exit. He lingered out in the open and then didn't even try to run off the court. Have some self-awareness and get your butt off the court when you know the opposing fans are ready to rush.
Hey, that’s enough of that common sense. You trying to pollute this place with logic and intelligence? The institution that has been impacted here should be of no relevance. It is a matter of student athletes from both sides be able to have a safe atmosphere.
I also only care about things inasmuch as they impact me.I figured it wouldn't be too long before you chimed in with that exact opinion. We fundamentally disagree. It's part of the college basketball experience.
I've always thought it was silly and an injury waiting to happen. It's only worsened in recent years and I can see the day when a player suffers a serious injury because he's in the way.It has been going on for decades. Where have you been? Only now you have a concern? Please.
Agree that Filipowski appeared to extend his leg to trip the fan and also push him and that caused his leg to buckle. That said, anything can happen during court storming so should unfortunately be banned.I watched a bunch of videos from different angles and to me it looked the Duke player extended his leg to trip the fan and their knees collided. If he attempted to avoid the fans then I don't think he would have been injured.
Secondly, what are the rules with fans running onto the court with time still on the clock. With 1 second on the clock there were fans clearly on the court heads down running full speed.
I looked at that video a few times. The game ended. He had to walk across the court. He didnt run. He has the right to walk off the court after the game ends. The crowd was on him after one or two steps towards his bench.Agree that Filipowski appeared to extend his leg to trip the fan and also push him and that caused his leg to buckle. Simple. You want to “ Storm the court”, if you don’t allow the other team to get off the court and you touch one of them, if they get hurt or not, you will be arrested for assault.
Mets clinch 1973 Fun? We used to do this too, why isn't this allowed? This was to their own players. You better get on MLB for banning this.Impossible, because that isn't assault!
It amazes me how many people are against this. No fun police is real.
Yankee's clinch. Same deal. Was this fun? You tell me. Why isn't this the norm in 2024. I can imagine your quote on this. "Why didn't Chris Chambliss run faster around the bases". It was his fault.Mets clinch 1973 Fun? We used to do this too, why isn't this allowed? This was to their own players. You better get on MLB for banning this.
Like the National Anthem? It has been going on for decades. Where have you been? Only now you have a concern? Please.
Hey. I was on the field that night. One of the guys i was with swears we are 2 of the longhaired kids on the back cover of the nydn.Yankee's clinch. Same deal. Was this fun? You tell me. It shouldn’t amaze you. You are consistently in the minority when it comes to these debates, always referencing “society.”Impossible, because that isn't assault!

What is it with the dukie players and always looking to trip people!?I watched a bunch of videos from different angles and to me it looked the Duke player extended his leg to trip the fan and their knees collided. If he attempted to avoid the fans then I don't think he would have been injured.
Secondly, what are the rules with fans running onto the court with time still on the clock. With 1 second on the clock there were fans clearly on the court heads down running full speed.
Saying he tried to trip someone is a stretch. 6'10 kids take long strides. He was doing what they call walking. What is it with the dukie players and always looking to trip people!?
So storming the court is one of the greatest things about college hoops? loflThe old heads wanting to kill one of the best things about the sport we are here for is crazy.
