Terrance Shannon jr is a major loss for them. Hard to just replace a guy that gives you 21 points per game.
But that had managed to blowout Northwestern, beat Michigan St, and hang at Purdue without him.
So solid win for Maryland.
With it being their only quality win of the year it is being treated more as an outlier at the moment than anything else.
They would have to go on some ridiculous run to get to 13-7 in the B10 to even sniff the dance based on how bad their OOC was.
NET OOC schedule was ranked 334 out of 365. Their average NET win overall sits at 219. 🤮
Really?,,,,, Why? Why not. He did a more-than-commendable job after eight years of near-depression: the last four of which were an embarrassment.
BIG looks as overrated as ever

Not sure how they’re overrated though? They’re below the Big East in KenPom, they have few ranked teams with more members.
To say they’re collectively not very good, that’s fair. But unless they’re spoken of more highly than they are, they’re not overrated.
They are top heavy, big swath of mediocrity and Rutgers brings up the rear (far better than DePaul).
Not sure the reason (seems internal) but Michigan PG Dug McDaniel was suspended by coach Howard for 6 games. What was weird about the scenario is he is suspended for the next 6 “road” games. The first which was against Maryland.
not sure i ever heard of that, but im guessiing he go into trouble on a road trip or something.
I think I remember this happening a few times although I couldn't give an example.
As hallball posted, I suspect it has to do with academics more than anything else.
I think they would still take him on the road and monitor him more closely if he had gotten into trouble. Also, if that had happened, we'd probably know about it.
